"My parents founded The Vermont Country Store in 1946, five years after I was born in 1941. My boyhood was spent in the beautiful hill-country village of Weston, Vermont. My mother Mildred was the company bookkeeper with an office at home. She had me stamping endorsements on checks from the mail orders and then adding them for deposit from an early age!
It was obvious to me that our catalog had a great opportunity to expand its reach, and in the last 25 years, in particular, we have grown significantly."

"To me, being a storekeeper is all about service. I always try to walk in the shoes of others to address unmet needs and to exceed expectations. Like my grandfather, I take great pleasure in meeting people and discovering what makes them tick. Back then, as today, folks came from all over the world to visit us in Weston.
Vrest believed, as I do, that we need stories to furnish our lives with context and character. It's no accident our success evolved with our passion for sharing great stories."

"I love being a proprietor of The Vermont Country Store and seeing the joy and excitement our products bring to our customers when they rediscover a long-lost product or find something they never knew existed that solves a problem. With each turn of the catalog page or bend around an aisle in our stores, our customers can find hundreds of opportunities for new discoveries, revived memories, and moments of excitement.
In addition to my health and wellness practice, my passion is to be outdoors. Whether hiking with my dog, skiing, or biking, I make sure to connect with nature every day."

"As an 8th-generation Vermonter and 4th-generation storekeeper, I treasure the beauty and lifestyle that living in Vermont has to offer, including the Green Mountains, the many farms and fields, and small villages. I am rooted in a tradition that has been in my family for over 100 years, which gives me pride and a sense of duty to our customers and our company.
On a sweeter note, I also have a few candy favorites that I’ve had since I was a kid, including Charleston Chew (the original foot-long bar), Swedish Fish, and Pop Rocks!"
