What is a swag, anyway? A draped fabric valance that falls gracefully from the top of a window, on both sides, in swooping, downward directions. Think of a swag as a valance with wings. The general purpose of a swag is to add shape and drama to your window treatment. There’s more “fabric” to a swag, yet since it frames the window and is mostly off to the side, it still allows plenty of light to filter in.

A swag set consists of left and right panels of the swag and a central, insert valance that is placed between the swag panels to create a different shape. It is often used to cover a wider window.
