The shell is a water-resistant nylon blend, so it's soft and breathable and helps to keep you dry in wet, rainy conditions. It also has a pack-away hood for added protection and plenty of pockets, including chest pockets, oversized cargo pockets (with hand-warmer pockets behind them), and a hidden document pocket that zips shut.
