Women's Ombre Tie-Dye Cotton Tank Chemise Nightgown
Headed for the "Rag Bag"
I washed it per the laundering instructions, but the crochet hem and seams puckered so badly that even ironing them didn't flatten them.
After the second washing, one of the crochet seams unraveled (unbeknownst to me) and caught on a piece of furniture, so the nightgown ripped.
I carefully mended the rip, but the fabric is so thin that the repair comes out again each time I wash it.
Pretty color (I got the blue) and very cool, but looks like heck after just five washes.
Not up to Vermont Country Store's usual standards.

shrinking, scratchy crochet trim ruins a nice item
I bought one of these items in blue, expecting it to be OK for outdoor wear but it is very thin fabric; too transparent for public outings. It is very soft and light; just right for a nightie but the crochet trim shrinks and bunches up and is quite rough. I can remove the band of crochet on the hem but there are also 2 lines of it down the front. I've washed the item several times, tried ironing it and the crochet is still to scratchy to wear. Too bad, it is otherwise a nice nightgown.

When I ordered this chemise it looked like I could wear it around the house as a cool summer dress or even a bathing suit cover-up. That was not the case. When I received it the fabric was very thin and see through. It turns out that even though I am not wearing it for the purpose I thought, it is a fabulous summer nightgown! I bought the yellow one and the color is not as vibrant as the photo. I love this as a nightgown but the photo is misleading. Btw, I wear a size 12/14 and the medium fits great.

I bought this as a cool, airy and roomy nightgown to wear around the house during the summer. It's classified as a chemise, (most commonly the term refers to a loose-fitting, sleeveless undergarment/ type of lingerie) so I never expected to be able to wear it out of the house.
It is blissfully thin...a blessing as I'm starting to get some hot flashes...and I will wash and air dry, as I do all my clothing, which is why it lasts so long and stays looking new.
The sizing is what is important to me when I'm looking at ratings, and the previous poster failed to mention the sizing, so I had to order two different sizes to try to get the closest one. These are blissfully oversized. The Medium, for example, could easily fit what their sizing chart labels a size 16, as the bust is 21.5 inches flat, or 43 inches total.
My best advice; order down and make no expectation beyond a great chemise to wear around the house during the dog days of summer.

The jury is still out.
The color is perfect and design is very nice. The fabric is extremely thin and flimsy. In my opinion, this would be a very nice nightie but I am not sure it could be worn out of the house. I expected and wanted lightweight cotton but this fabric is nothing like the other two dresses I purchased. If this were a lighter color, you could see through it.......It would be very cool and the armholes fit the best of any dress/top I have tried. Now, I have to decide whether or not to keep it. Also, I would hand wash this and lay flat or hang to dry.....not drip dry though as it would be out of shape. Also, the crochet trim is a very nice touch but I am wondering if it will shrink and pucker. I would never put this in the washer or dryer even with no heat. I will update this review if I keep this item. Decisions, decisions....
