Long Square Neck Plaid Flannel Nightgown
Flannel in Winter
Love the square neckline! , flattering and cozy, quality flannel, bought one in the black watch which looks even nicer than in the picture, lots of material...so I wouldn't size up, sleeve/cuffs were not a problem for me as I read that they might be in other reviews...I like the longer sleeves though...

Length is perfect for me (5'9"). Fabric is very soft and comfortable, lighter weight than I expected but that's good because it flows, fits better under a belted robe, and isn't too warm when sleeping under a comforter. Neckline is nice but I agree with other customers that it should be higher in back than in front. My two criticisms: the gown needs pockets; and while it's not expensive as such, it is over-priced given the fabric and the fairly simple construction.

WITHOUT A DOUBT MY ALL TIME FAVORITE PURCHASE BAR NONE!!! My husband stays hot and although I am going through menopause I freeze! In the winter time! This gown is so adorably perfect in every way! The material is nice soft thick flannel, well sewn, full length (I'm 5'7) and it hangs to the top of my ankles. I wear a size 12 but purchased a larger size bc I sleep wild & need the extra leg room :) I washed it on gentle & rinsed it in Snuggle & hung to dry. Did not shrink one bit. This is my favorite gown I own & not to sound like a broken record I wish I had 1 more for backup! :) YES YES YES I would tell everyone to buy it<3

Perfect flannel nightgown!
Bought this nightgown in the red stewart plaid along with the matching robe, and I loved it so much I ordered it again in the black watch plaid! The weight of the all cotton flannel is perfect--not too thick that it suffocates you, but substantial enough to have a nice drape and keep you cozy. The neckline is rather open in front and back, but I prefer it that way so I don't get overheated. It also enables this gown to be worn through the spring, when other gowns might be too warm. I love the length of this gown, too! It is so hard to find one that covers my ankles and I'm only 5'4"!. I highly recommend the matching robe! I wear the two together throughout the winter and find that I stay toasty without burning up! For washing, because it is all cotton and I do not want it to shrink, I wash in cold water and hang to dry. I have not had a bit of shrinkage!

Gram bought made me a new flannel nightgown every Christmas
Soft and cosy.. My Gram made me a new flannel nightgown for Christmas every year!! They were always my favorite present in tartan plaids, pastel calicoses or floral stripes. Each year I now buy a flannel nightgown and enjoy it with sweet memories of her!!

I bought one in green a few years ago. Actually had to hem it 3". I doesn't shrink when washed & dried!! Comfortable, quality fabric, and sturdy! Nice and warm when chill weather arrives. And cat-friendly when they curl up and "knead" on your lap. I am ordering a red one today, although the green is still in great shape.

First, if you want roomy, this is it. I found it to run large and had to return both colors for exchange. Even the lesser size I ordered is still roomy, but was only able to exchange the navy. The red is no longer available. I wish I'd kept the red rather than having returned it...I would have done everything possible to shrink it. Please don't get me wrong...I like "roomy".
The reason for the 4 stars is they lack pockets.
Otherwise, they are truly comfortable and I don't feel frumpy wearing them.

Finally a gown that's long enough!!!
I should start my review off by saying that I primarily buy flannel nightwear for sitting around in BEFORE bedtime on those chilly winter nights, rather than looking for something warm to sleep in. I supposed that makes it "loungewear" for me. When I tried this nightgown on, I was thrilled - FINALLY - a decent length nightgown!!! I'm 5'9" tall and this one actually hit my ankles, which was a treat. Unfortunately, it shrank in the dryer so now it's too short again. :-# If you want to keep the length, keep it away from your dryer. The fabric is nice and heavy - and the color is beautiful - it's held up to the wash wonderfully. I agree that it would be nice to have a way to roll the sleeves up and keep them up - either with just a small amount of elastic, or a button - I'll probably just sew in a smidge or elastic. The only real drawback I see to this design is one that others have mentioned - the square neckline. While incredibly attractive, and great in the front, the neck as designed does leave the back of my neck quite chilly while I'm just hanging out in my nightgown. This is the one nightgown I own that I feel the need to throw a shawl over my shoulders to combat this. The design would benefit from a small change that brings the back of the neckline up, while keeping the square design in the front. However, even with those small drawbacks (which for me added up to taking off a star#, I still love this gown and when it goes on sale, I'll snag another one - and I'd absolutely recommend buying them to anyone else.
