Women's Cable-Knit Merino Socks
I hate toe seems so I'm always looking for socks with smooth ones. I wanted wool socks for the winter and couldn't find any (anywhere!) with flat toe seems. Looking at the photo of these socks it looked like the seems might be smooth so I gave it a shot. They're not bad even though I do turn them inside out(I know, real freak, right?). I ordered 3 more pair. They are quite warm and thin enough to fit inside most of my shoes and boots, which can be a problem with some wool socks. Merino wool is known for its softness and these don't disappoint in that respect. I'm not a plus size woman but I did get the plus size socks to allow for shrinkage(I don't care what they claim, there's always shrinkage with wool)and they washed and dried nicely. Looking forward to warm feet this winter.

not very comfortable
I really wanted to like these socks because I like everything I get from the Vermont Country store. They will probably last forever because they feel like they're knitted from rope. They are warm and they stay up, but if you like softness, stay away from these socks.

Perfect for Cold Winters
I have owned a couple pairs of these socks for a couple/three winters, and they are holding up very well. I love them because they are warm without being very thick. And, because they are knee socks, they keep my calves warm, too. Recently, while spending the holidays in the Chicago area I had the opportunity to lend a pair to a friend for a day. She immediately appreciated them, too. Upon returning home and realizing that this Chicago winter was going to continue to be an extremely cold one, I sent my friend 3 pairs of these socks. She LOVES them! So there! I would not only recommend these to a friend, I actually purchased some for a friend.

Not true plus size socks. Barely reach the knee and there is little give.

HARD-TO-FIND KNEE SOCKS
I have a very difficult time finding just plain color cable knit knee socks. In fact, Vermont Country Store is the ONLY place I can find them any more. I usually buy 4 pair, different colors, every year because I wear them constantly throughout the winter months and love them. They're comfortable and durable.
Thank you for continuing to carry them at your store!

Finally! Warm, dry feet!
My legs and feet were always cold and then I remembered where I had found my old Merino Wool socks! I went online and found them again at Vermont Country Store! I also found some of those wonderful old drip candles we loved in our teens and got some for my grown-up children to put in the beautiful cobalt wine bottles we found at Thanksgiving! Thank you so much for keeping these things available to us!

bring back the old ones!
I have been buying these socks for years and they have always been perfect. Yes, the length changes year to year and matching up old and new sock mixes after washing has become one the the challenges on laundry day. But the socks themselves have always been great and essential here in Minnesota in the fall, winter, and early spring. This year for the very first time they keep falling down as I walk. I keep thinking that I musy have an old pair on that have lost their stretch. When I check at night, it is always a brand new pair that I am wearing. Please bring back the old ones or find a new source for ones that can stay up. This is the only source I have found and I hate to have to look further.

Loved the socks out of the box but after wearing them once and washing they don't stay up for very long. They are nice and heavy quality but not impressed after spending good money on them.
