Women's Merino Wool Pointelle Long Johns
got pointelle by mistake, but perfect anyway
I ordered these to go along with the tank, long sleeve and short sleeve tops of the merino wool underwear. I needed them for a trip to Wisconsin (being from California I didn't have anything warm enough for their cold weather). By my mistake I ordered the pointelle version of the pants. BUT it was a good mistake. I might have been too warm with the solid merino wool under wool pants.
I wore these again here in California earlier this week for an outdoor service dog training class. I had them on under heavy cotton knit slacks and they were just the right amount of warmth. The solid ones would have been too warm. No itchiness whatsoever for me.

These wool 'long John's' are great!
The wool fabric is very comfortable even against my dry itchy Minnesota skin. I am average weight and build and take size 10-12 jeans, but found the medium size too small, which I returned for the larger size, ( the return/exchange process went very well and was timely). Except that I expect these to last awhile, I would reorder another with out hesitation!

So far, so good
I only got these the other day so time will tell how well they hold up. I think they should do perfectly. I always wear skirts, and I didn't want anything with nylon because in the winter, nylon has serious static issues. I have not had any static with wool. This wool is as light and soft as stated in the description and they don't add any bulk under my clothing. They seemed a little itchy at first but I didn't take time to prewash them--after a day's wear that improved. I ordered according to the size chart and they fit perfectly. I have been comfortable wearing them indoors--even while working all day.
The real test: MN winter. The temp today is a whopping 10 below (windchill factor). The wind ripped right through my winter coat and two shirts. My cheeks are about frost bit. I can barely feel my toes. About the only part of my body that stayed comfortable was my legs.
