Rubber Roses Swim Cap
Old fashioned bathing cap saves the day!
I've been taking an aerobic swimming class for a few months with a number of older folks (like myself!). With ice and snow and subzero temperatures in upstate New York, it's nice to come out of the pool and shower without totally wet hair. Unfortunately the only bathing caps sold in the sporting goods store are for college student and racers who need a tight cap for aerodynamics or something. Even the cap for "longer hair" didn't cover my hair and gave me a headache! We were recently lamenting the lack of a good, "old-fashioned" bathing cap, like we used to wear in the good old days. When I wore the one from Vermont Country Store, I was surrounded by ladies asking where I bought it! On the day I forgot it at home, one friend asked where was my blue cap? You may be getting quite a few orders from upstate NY!

Best Cap Ever ~ Works w/o Chin Strap!
This is a wonderful swim cap for the serious swimmer. The cap is very pretty and large enough to hold lots of hair in the dome. This cap fits snug without the nuisance of a chin strap. Some water does tend to wick in at the back seam line but a quick towel dry at the neckline is not much of an inconvenience. Also, the gasket does need additional glue after a few hours in the water, about 12, but super easy to do with a glue made for "rubber". This tiny inconvenience far exceeds the value and joy of using this swim cap. I love it!

I am temporarily bald so I need a bathing cap when swimming, to protect my skin and my privacy. I bought a cap over the internet which looked good. It turned out to be a colorful incredibly tight cap to be used to keep hair dry and perhaps for competitive swimming. It hurt! I went on the Vermont Store website and saw a conventional, old fashioned bathing cap, which I could not find anywhere else. I bought it. I have not gone swimming yet but it feels comfortable. Hopefully, and likely, it will stay on during a swim.

Great swim cap!
I swim laps several days a week at my local YMCA. The latex caps that most swimmers wear are uncomfortable and too small. They always ride up above my ears. I think they're useless. I've been looking for a long time for a suitable cap, and the Rubber Roses Swim Cap is absolutely wonderful. It fits great, covers my ears and keeps my hair pretty dry. I will definitely be ordering more.

Vermont Store stands by their claims for quality and service.
Sadly there was a problem with my new swim cap, but I came out a happy customer, completely satisfied.
I've been lap swimming regularly for the last 6 or 7 years, and have been repeatedly disappointed by dozens of swim caps I've purchased online. I have long hair and a big head, and all the caps that I've tried have been ugly and ill-fitting. The swim cap at the Vermont Store has great style and fit, even over all my long hair (tightly twisted in a bun). I put hair conditioner on when I swim, and finally, this was the perfect cap that provided the snug protection I needed to keep the conditioner in and the chlorine out. My ideal---but!! the first day out of the pool the inside white-rubber edging came off that keeps the cap snug around my head. It still worked somewhat, far better than all the others, but it wouldn't stay put without repeated tugging. I was so impressed with customer service---gracious and helpful in the extreme. A replacement was happily sent right away, with assurances that this was unusual for this product. Free shipping, no hassle. And I have more confidence than ever in the Vermont Store, that if for any reason there are problems in the future, or if they happen to get a bad batch of some item, I'll be taken care of. It's rare to have a shopping experience that is backed by a feeling of trust and not dread---as we all know, at some point Murphy's law inevitably strikes, despite our best efforts. I hate being a complainer, and hate even more having to follow through on a problem; the the Vermont Store made it a pleasure and left a smile on my face. How often does that happen. Thank you so much, for a great cap, but more so, for the thoughtful care of your customers---which I'll be for life.
