Rated 5 out of 5Â by Jany Sock monkeys, a favorite of the grandkids
Our grandchildren are the perfect age for a Jack in the box. To find a monkey in the box was perfect since their dad gave each of them a sock monkey doll when they were born. The sock monkey is more unusual than the usual clown.

I bought my husband the Sock-Monkey-in-the-box as a sort of "gag" present for Christmas. I figured he'd wind it up once, shake his head and move on to another gift. Boy, was I wrong! It has been wound and rewound too many times to count and every time the monkey pops out we BOTH smile. I guess it evokes memories of our simpler, pre-computer childhoods. Whatever. I'm just glad I decided to buy it!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by MEMAJ SOCK MONKEY IN THE BOX (SIMILAR TO JACK IN THE BOX)
i was attracted to the sock monkeybecause there are sock dolls like this and also because my children had a jack in the box, that after turning the handling jumps up..scares the child. and it is over and over. my great grandson is two-and-a-half but very smart and he loved the monkeys which he called "ee,ee" due to the sound they made. i bought this monkey in the box for him to also have memories as my children did.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dahmooren My 18 month old loves this toy!
Although my son is already too smart for the latch operation which moves to release the lid when the song is finished, he will let me play the whole song by cranking the knob on the side, as he firmly places his hand on the top of the box, and then releases the door himself with a big, "Weeeee"; which happens to be a caption on the side of the box too. (Cute) It is a nice toy, but I am always shocked at how expensive everything is in the world, especially quality toys...29.95 plus tax at the store in Weston, VT. This one is worth it.

Will be giving this as a gift to a 1 year old in 2 weeks. Love the sock monkeys. When my kids were young (they are now 25 and 23), I hand-made sock monkeys for them and the monkeys were named George & Georgette so seeing the sock monkey in a "jack-in-the-box is wonderful!
