hard to find metal loom i'd been looking for a metal loom for my little granddaughter. i know she would love making potholders just like i did years ago. however, the only looms i've been able to find are made of plastic and they break almost immediately. we have not tried this one yet, but it looks plenty sturdy and like it is made well. i really thought i was not going to find a metal one, so i was very happy to have found this one. vermont country store has many quality products and i'm glad to have come across their site. Childhood Memories This was a gift for the little girl who recieved the Uncle Wiggly game and book for Christmas. Her Mom and I both remember making potholders for our grandparents and parents! So the tradition will live on thanks to you and your wonderful store and catalog!!! I know that I will be ordering again in the near future. You still have the nightgowns I wore as a child and the Calico Aprons my grandmother wore!!!!! December 31, 2012
potholder loom/loops I ordered the potholder loom and loops for my granddaugher for Christmas. I wish the potholder loom had higher posts to keep the loops on easier. I was very disappointed with the quality of the loops. Before I even got the loops out of the package they were raveling. I don't think they are going to hold up at all. December 28, 2012
Simple fun! My friends and I loved these as kids. It's a fun, non-electronic way to amuse your kids. Great Holiday gift! November 15, 2012
anyone can do this! This is the highest quality set available on the market. The metal loom holds up to even the least delicate handling! I've had many plastic looms and they all have inevitably broken. You can make so much more than potholders by linking the squares together. This is a fun and satisfying craft for both children and adults. November 8, 2012
Memories I remember making these potholders as a child and putting them in my "hope chest." It was fun picking out the colors and seeing how the potholders turned out. November 7, 2012
THIS PRODUCT IS A NOSTALGIA TRIP ! I had several of these potholder looms as a child. They were sold in the "Five & Ten" near where I grew up in the Bronx. I have since purchased several from you the last couple of years to give as gifts. A lot of us "Baby Boomers" are turning 60 & this trip down memory lane is a real treat. Keep up the good work! What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Traditional Potholder Loom and Loops …

"This toy is fabulous! When I was a little girl, my dad passed away when I was five years old. My mother, Ruby, was the Head Instructor of Springfield Beauty Academy, and I had to "hang out" at the salon after school and on Saturday. I would weave potholders and sell them to the ladies under the dryer or getting their manicures, for 25 cents each. I even wove custom colors to match their kitchen decor. One Saturday I made $17.00! The supplies were much cheaper then -- bags of loops were 25 cents each and huge, so I made quite a profit! That was 45 years ago, and I've been in retail ever since! I'm getting these for my granddaughters for Christmas so they can learn, too, and I can go back to my childhood memories! I stumbled across your site but will pass it on! Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share "a blast from my past" with my grandchildren! I look forward to your catalogs. Terrigail Moore-Hastings" - Terrigail Hastings, Springfield, MO

"Thanks for finding these. Using them to make potholders with my grandmother while my mother was in the hospital is a warm, cherished memory. When Mom came home, I gave her three new potholders as a gift, and she gave me one, too -- a new baby sister!" - Linda Maloy, Birmingham, AL

"I, too, made these as a child. I made a special one for my grandmother - with the prettiest loops in the bag. She thought it too pretty to use - I still have this potholder as a memory of her! Vermont Country Store - thank you from all of us who cherish the memories your store and catalog invoke!" - Delores Belvin, Elizabeth City, NC
