Lanz Cranberry Tyrolean Flannel Nightgown
A childhood recalled
Growing up in Northern California parts of our state can drop below -11 that is in the Great Sierras so nights can be cold here too. When I was a child I would receive a Lanz night gown every 2 years or 3 years for Christmas. I loved the heaviness of it....and I have great memories of stepping over the heat register to warm me in the morning....and I would blow up like an air balloon....the quality hasn't changed in 40 plus years and this winter now moving to the Sacramento Valley we have dropped below 20 degrees and immediately I washed my Lanz and put it on and I was transported to a sweet time in my life.
Grant you it is not sexy but boy is it cozy. Thank you Lanz for keeping the quality up all these years.

So happy with the quality and coziness of this nightgown--it is thick and has a double layer at the yoke for durability and yet moves and feels extremely comfortable. It also covers my ankles, always good for those of us with the cold ankles and feet!

Warm on a cold night
I especially like the double material on the yoke portion of the night gown. Adds to the warmth on the shoulder and chest area.

Beautiful but wide
I've had my eye on this gown ever since it first became available hoping you would offer it in petite. Since not I resigned myself to ordering the small and hemming it myself, but I didn't expect it to be so big everywhere else. This gown is extremely wide -- enough to fit two people! I am very disappointed as this is a VERY lovely night gown. It would be nice if it was offered in a more narrow petite size. I would buy it in a heart beat. I ordered the toile gown, which is pretty and more narrow -- see my review.

Wonderful Lanz Flannel Nightgown
I love my new Lanz flannel nightgown. It is so very soft and cozy. It is also very large. I wear a size 14-16 in all other clothing, so ordered the L (14-16). I washed it and dried it in the dryer, hoping to shrink it. It did shrink some but is still a little large. It is okay to be roomy for sleeping. I love the nightgown and plan to order another one in a medium. If you order this nightgown, go down one size. It is such a beautiful nightgown and I should gets lots of pleasure out of wearing it. I Love it!!

In my dresser drawer are three new nightgowns that I bought elsewhere. Not one of them fits properly. Then I bought Lanz Cranberry Tyrolean Flannel Nightgown and instantly felt comfortable. It is roomy so that I do not trip when walking; the loose elastic at the wrists is enough to keep the sleeves in place but not tight to make marks on my arms; throw it in the washer and dryer and it comes out looking and feeling like new. I went on line today to buy another one but looks like it is no longer available. Have to take good care of the one I have until it is again on sale.

Ordering my second one!
I had the traditional color Tyrolean flannel gown 25 or more years ago--best gown I ever had! I agree with the other reviewers about how comfy it is. The 54 inch length is the only one long enough to keep my legs warm, and I am only 5'5". I would urge Lanz to make the longer length in other prints. I just bought the Cranberry and I am ordering another just like it because of the length--would prefer a little variety. The fabric is top quality--nobody makes better sleepwear than Lanz! Thank you, Vermont Country Store.

nice and long !
Lanz nightgowns have been getting shorter over the years - the newer ones all seem to start at 50 inches which when washed and dried a few times makes them more like 48 inches long. I am 5'6" and I really appreciate this gown with its extra length. Finally - a Lanz nightgown that approaches my ankles and not my knees. I look forward to more of this length so I can buy several more.
