uniquely comfortable
I have been buying these for many years now and they are truly unique. I do not know what i would do without them. These do not have a true rubber-band-type elastic waste, but rather a tighter-than-elsewhere ribbing at the waste, which does a perfect job of keeping them up, yet is not restricting or pinching or bulky at the waste, creating a very smooth, flat, even and shapely siluette, excellent for wearing under curvy and fitted knit dresses or if you want to keep warm in low-wasted bottoms, yet maintaining maximum comfort for a long and warm day of wear, where you do not have a feeling of something extra tight at the waste and can forget you even have them on. I wear these from fall into early spring, right until bear-leg weather begins, since i hate nylon pantyhose and simply do not wear them at all, except perhaps on very special occasions (who wants to be voluntarily confined into a synthetic straight-jacket all day long?!). I just wish there was a cotton equivalent of these, with the same non-elastic seemless waste, to maximize inbetween-season comfort. Unfortunately there is not from what i can tell. One hint: make sure you get a large enough size to maximize the high-wasted stay-on ability, which prevents any skin becoming exposed to cold between tops and bottoms. I used to get a small, but then realized that after a few washings/dryings (yes, i do that for convenience, though it's probably best not to) they lose just a bit in length and that creates some gaping in the crotch, but switching to medium solved that problem for me perfectly - now everything easily fills in in just the right places when i pull them up and still no gaping or sagging - these do not have that problem. Also, i am sensitive to itchy wool, but do not have a problem with these. Just overall excellent blend of comfort and warmth that you rarely find in tights. One downside would be that they do occasionally develop holes, but not often enough to make me give them up, plus the holes don't run, so as long as they are not in a visible place you can still keep wearing them. You only need a couple to take you through a season and usually they last for more than one
