Rated 5 out of 5Â by Audrey K. Lovely feminine Robe & Gown
I saw this and had to have it. It made me feel all girlie inside, and I'm way past the age of girlie. Decided I'm never to old to feel feminine.
I'm a large woman and would normally take a 1XL or 2XL. My chest measurement is around 50" (subject to change without notice). I had to send back two of these, the XXL and the XL, because they were truly super huge. Each time Vermont Country Store took care if it with great courtesy, can't say enough kind words about all the help I received. So, I ended up with the LARGE ROBE, which is still generous and is sized correctly for my circumference :-) I also ordered the short moonlight sonata GOWN, this time in XL which fits perfectly, which I love.
So, what I would tell you is the ROBE is huge, the GOWN seems more true to size.
Also, I discovered something which is you can call VCS to ask for the dimensions of the garment (which are different from size) and they can tell you for instance that the garment is 28 inches across. If you duplicate this you can determine that the overall dimension is 56", so if you are a 50" body measurement that will give you 6" of "ease" or extra room in the garment. Now I know and so do you :-)

I recently reconnected with an old flame with whom I hadn't spoken in almost 20 years. One of the first things he asked is if I still wear my signature white cotton gowns. I took an immediate trip back in time to a couple of white nightgowns that I loved dearly, and I was reminded of how much I've missed them since they've been gone. This "robe" and the gown to go with it are my replacements. The robe is a little too long, and just a bit too big all over, but it's lovely just the same. If I were to order it again, I'd go down a size. Excellent quality, nonetheless. Light-weight. Just perfect for romantic summer nights.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by NYCChica Nice but too many buttons
I bought this robe to match the gown. Both are very comfortable and pretty. The problem with the robe is there are way too many buttons if you want to close it fully. You could just tie the top ribbon but it may not hold as the ribbon is thin and slippery. I will be sewing some snaps onto the inside of the button placket to use instead. Next time I will choose a robe with a tie.

I love these robes which I wear as nightgowns as I like sleeves. They are warm in winter and cool in summer.
They can't be beat !!!!!!! I have purchased several over a few years !!!!

I've been eyeing this up for some time . I finally convinced myself I deserved something so beautiful.
I am not sorry in the least that I purchased this robe.
It has wonderful detail and is just the perfect weight for spring.
It just makes me feel special when I wear it. I will hate to see the really cold weather come back.

I bought 4 sets of cotton gowns/robes because of hot flashing. In the winter I can wear both to sleep in comfortably and wear one or the other if I hot flash a lot while I'm sleeping. I love flannel but until this phase passes it is very uncomfortable for hot flashing. These Eileen West gowns/robes are warm and comfy enough but also don't trap perspiration and heat.

The "Moonlight Sonata" line is really nice. True to size and color and made from very comfortable cotton. A lovely garment.
Only suggestion is that buttonholes and buttons should be a little larger despite how dainty they appear currently...otherwise, it is wonderful to find a robe again that opens all the way down without a zipper that can break.
Yours is a easy on and off without the underlying fabric nightgown requiring yanking the OTHER styles of half-opening robes overhead...that is way too hard on heart patients who have less energy to fight clothing.
