What do you get an almost 80 year old Mom for Christmas? For the second year in a row I purchased flannel pjs for my mom for Christmas and she has LOVED them! She has everything, doesn't want anything, but can always use some new, special pajamas. The flannel is soft, durable, a comfortable fit and the prints are timeless. Last year we went bold with peanuts characters, this year simple elegance with wild roses. Thank you for making a product that lasts and is so comfortable.

High-quality fabric usedI ordered and received these last month, and have washed and dried them twice now, prior to altering them (I have to shorten literally everything). I must say I'm impressed with the high-quality flannel that is used. I've been a sewer for almost 60 years now, and I know good fabric when I see it. This is GOOD fabric! Nice and heavy, closely-woven, and soft, and the print is clear and sharp. It washed up nicely, too. I wouldn't hesitate to order your flannel pajamas again.
I just wish you carried petite sizes!!

Pretty pajamas that didn't fitThese pajamas are pretty, but that's the nicest thing I can say about them. I bought them in a large, and the waist was far too big. When I pulled on the drawstring, it snapped, so I can no longer wear these pajamas without them falling off. I will buy again from this company, but not this product.

Pants Oddly ConstructedAlthough the flannel is very comfortable, the pants are unusable as they are almost impossible to adjust, so they continually fall down. Unlike other commenters, I don't want to take the time to re-sew and fix them myself. Also, the PJs have shrunk a bit and now the pants are too short. I had expected higher quality from this company, but have been very happy with their products in the past.

Lovely pattern and fabricThe flannel is nice quality, very soft and comfortable. They're very warm for cold winter nights or chilly spring ones. They're a pleasure to lounge in before bedtime and a pleasure to sleep in.

DisappointedI purchased the "Wild Rose' p.j's in Large, expecting them to be loose and comfy. (This is the size that I have ordered from VCS in the last several years.)
They were 'skimpily' made, and no where near as comfy as the "cardinal' pattern that I have worn for two winters, now.
If I were you, I would not use the manufacturer of those Wild Rose pjs again.
P.S.: I have a sister in N.Y. who is ill and lost 50 pounds in three months. The Wild Rose will do for her for now. So all is not lost.

Construction shortcomingsThe flannel itself is of good substantial quality, nice and soft. There are two problems with the bottom part. First, compared with other pajamas I've purchased from the Vermont Country Store, the upper end is barely deep enough to reach my waist. Pajamas that bind in the seat are not good. Second, the system for tightening the waist so that the bottom part doesn't fall down does not work. There is a very narrow casing, with some skimpy elastic in back and drawstrings in front to pull and tie. But it is nearly impossible to pull these flannel drawstrings through a flannel casing so tight. Finally I took my seam ripper and just undid the whole casing, removed the little elastic and drawstrings, and ironed the top (now raw) edge of the bottoms flat. Fortunately I had a flannel remnant that color-coordinates with the pajamas. When time permits I will sew on a band about six inches high, then fold it down in half and hem it, in effect adding nearly three inches to the top end of the bottoms, which should make them roomier and therefore more comfortable. At the top of this extension I'll sew a casing about an inch wide and insert a proper band of elastic all around. This will be much more comfortable around my waist and certainly more secure in terms of the bottoms not falling down. But I should not have to resort to such measures.
