Flattering This slip is flattering, but does require a slight alteration there is too much fabric in the arm scythe area. With larger bust sizes there is the assumption that the person is overall larger. May 10, 2014
Bust is huge, hips narrow The sizing is by "bra size" except it isn't. You can't enter a cup size, just a ribcage size. I wear a 36A, sometimes a 34B, and the bust was HUGE on me. You could fit a DD cup in there. Plus the hips were too tight. I am 5'5" and 140 pounds and wear a size 6-8 dress but the hips on this slip were very tight. Not to mention that I wear my skirts at knee length or slightly above, so major hemming of this slip would have been required. I liked this slip because of the narrow straps that I could wear under v-necked sleeveless summer dresses. Why doesn't anybody understand that not only ultra "modest" dressers want a cool, absorbent cotton slip? I am hip and modern but want a slip that isn't hot and sticky in summer. Very disappointed. Returning. May 1, 2014
Cotton is cool comfort, but adds bulk Too many summer skirts and dresses come unlined, and nylon slips are uncomfortable in the heat and humidity. Cotton slips are impossible to find, so I was thrilled to see that Vermont Country Store carries a couple of options. I purchased the full and half slips and they are just fine - I'm happy to have them. Unfortunately (and this isn't Vermont Country Store's fault), both slips are just too long for most of my wardrobe, so these will see very limited use. Where they do work, however, they do add some puffiness to your look. On the very slim, this won't be much of an issue. But those of us with curves don't necessarily want the extra bulk.
