Women's Summer Innocence Nightgown
Nice mid-weight gown
This gown provides a nice medium-weight option, as the fabric is thicker than batiste or lawn, but lighter than flannel. Although it is called Summer Innocence, I find it works well for the cool weather that passes for winter on the Gulf Coast. The fabric is coarser textured than lawn or batiste, but is not at all scratchy or stiff. The heavier weight also allows the fabric to be opaque, not see-through, even though it is white in color.
I an 5'9", and the hem hits me mid-calf. I did find the elastic in the sleeves to be a bit irritating, as it hit rather awkwardly in the middle of my forearm. As it was only held in place by a single row of stitching which was not part of a structural seam, I was easily able to rip it out. I much prefer the sleeves without the elastic.

Love the look. Especially like the elastic in the cuffs. Wish I could get this in a robe! I am always looking for robes that button as I dislike belted robes.

I really like this nightgown - bought two of them in fact. However, unlike customers who said the fabric is soft and comforting, when I put it on I feel as though I am on a wagon train heading west in the 1870's. The fabric feels coarse and basic, like what might have been worn in those days if the ladies changed into night wear. My only criticism is that when the sleeves ride up the elastic is tight. It's a pretty nightgown.

Love, love, love it!
I truly love the look and feel of this gown. I would love it even more if the sleeves were 1" longer and the hem was 2" longer, though. No, I'm not tall, only 5'4", but it just hits me at a rather strange length, and the sleeves are a tad too short.
There are two of these in my closet, and I will definitely be ordering more if they make it just a bit longer or offer a "tall" size!

Second time around
This is my second gown because I was in love with my first one that I accidently left in a motel. Someone else must have loved it as much as me because it never turned up missing. It was one of the best purchases I had ever made. Therefore, another gown was ordered. I washed it up right away to wear that evening but was so disappointed. This gown seemed to have a different texture, one sleeve was longer than the other and the elastic in one sleeve was tighter than the other. I knew I couldn't return it since I had already washed it so decided to live with it. I've never written a review like this but want to speak the truth.
I would have spent any price for that first gown but the second time around I lost out.

Soft and Floaty, but well made fabric is firmly woven.
This combined cotton and linen fabric was a pleasant surprise. I was worried it would be see through, but it is not! It says to iron after drying, but if taken out of the dryer promptly, there is no need. I am very happy with this purchase.

I am absolutely delighted in the simplicity of this nightgown. The truly U shaped neckline is different and, for me at least, a very flartering look. While it is true that the "ruffles" aren't as full as some other styles, they aren't intended to be really full, I don't think. THis is a very simple nightgown, not overly embellished. The cuff's are gathered only by the elastic. The hem is more "ruffled".
This is a more substantial material and it will remain to be seen by me, at least, if it can be worn in the summer.
I may very well purchase another, just in the off chance that this one wears out. I'd hate to not have this. It is that nice and comfortable and flattering.
Thanks Vermont Country Store.
