Rated 4 out of 5Â by NellLarkin Cold weather nightgown
The 100% cotton fabric of this nightgown is VERY heavy so it is best for very cold winter nights. The quality is excellent. I am actually thinking about using it as a robe rather than a nightgown because of the thickness of the fabric. If you get very cold at night in our New England winters this would be ideal as a nightgown but it may be too heavy for some.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by DesignChick01 It doesn't stay buttoned!
I purchased this gown last fall and I have been very disappointed with it. The shoulders are tight, while the rest of the gown is generously sized. The sleeves are too short, but because of their cut they don't stay if pushed up. But the worst thing is that it doesn't stay buttoned!! It has small flower shaped mother of pearl buttons that just wont stay closed.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by H Fabric too heavy
Love the neckline and the long sleeves but wish nightwear designers would quit with the pink/blue colors and give us some grown up colors. Why not taupe, grey, black, something more sophisticated. This gown would have been better plain black . . .no little pink flowers!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Grandma DSM Knit nightgowns are the right weight.
I am a warm blooded grandmother who has troubles finding comfortable sleepwear. Cotton knit nightgowns are rare.
I love this Eileen West Cotton Knit Nightgown - fabric feels great, it is generous in size - but I knew that going in. I love the dark fabric - cannot see through it, and if there are any stains they do not show. I had a little trouble with the buttons staying closed at the neckline, so I just sewed it shut. Pulling it over my head is easy. Do wish it would come out in another dark print. The length is just right - and I am vertically challenged.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Sherly Not like the Eileen West I've known
I want to start out by saying that I love Eileen West's gowns. I have several. But this one is just disappointing. It's pretty enough and the cotton is soft and substantial to wear in the winter. But the cut is frumpy and it's way shorter than the picture shows. It also shrank after two washings and now it's really short which makes me feel even dumpier in it and colder on snowy nights. I read all the reviews and everyone seemed to love it so I bought it. But really I don't think it's up to the same standards as some of her other gowns. Sorry but it only gets 3 stars from me.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Friend in need Love, love this nightgown
All my life I have loved nightgowns. My children and grandchildren all know I call my nightgowns my "friends." Hosting Christmas morning in our nightclothes, I wanted to have a new friend. I found Vermont Country Store when I did an Internet search. I was impressed with what I saw. This is the first (of many I am sure) that I have purchased from VCS. This nightgown is the best quality nightgown I have ever had. It is my comfortable dress up "friend." Thank you Vermont Country store!

I like that this nightgown is dark in color. When women wear nightgowns they generally do not wear bras. Most women, particularly the buxom ones, do not look better without their bras, and the dark color hides our body flaws much better than the light pastels. What I have a problem with is calling this nightgown a "knit" as its knit is so tight as to be more like a woven product. When I think of a "knit" I think very stretchy T-shirt material, and this material is a much tighter weave and inflexible than that. So, it is in fact not as comfortable as I had expected and I also find the sleeves around the upper arms a bit on the tight side.

Very comfortable. Soft, supple material that is heavy enough for winter but not at all bulky. Looks good too!
