To keep their feet warm and comfortable, our grandparents and parents relied on basic ragg wool socks like these, and with good reason. Besides being rugged and durable, wool is also a natural insulator that wicks away moisture so your feet stay dry and retain more body heat. The socks, available in boot and crew lengths, feature a hefty knit construction that keeps its shape in the wash and reinforced heels and smooth flat-seam toes. 85% wool, 14% nylon, 1% spandex. Machine wash and dry. USA of domestic or imported material. Color is brown tweed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cool & Comfy My husband adores ragg wool socks. I mistakenly ordered them from another catalog (couldn't remember that I originally ordered them from VCS) and they were very unsatisfactory (shrank after first wash and did not last). Now I keep a record and will only order from Vermont Country Store. Better quality and prompt delivery. Thanks. June 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by good purchase I ordered these socks to wear when the nights are chilly and my feet are cold. They wash beautifully and I should have ordered a smaller size because they did not shrink up..... February 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wonderfully warm. After first wash, they are not at all scratchy and so-o-o comfy. I gave them a 4 only because I wish the toe area were a bit thicker, but I must admit they do keep my toes warm. February 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I have looked for Years to find soft wool crew socks.! I lived in socks like these for years. But my sources dried up. I was wearing socks with more holes in them than sock because I could not find them anymore! And finally voila, there they are at the Country Store, and they have just the right amount of stretch. I LOVE them. January 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Husband says "Great Socks" I bought these for my husband. He has a problem with cold feet and wears boots all the time. These were perfect for him. He kept saying "great socks". So - that is what I am turning over to you. December 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Missed out last year Nothing like ragg socks to keep your feet warm. I was too late last year. This year I have a supply for myself and all my friends and relatives. December 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent These socks are fantastic. After washing on cool you just hang dry without any shaping. Have had a pair for two seasons and they are still like new and haven't shrunken at all. February 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Basic Warmth It is hard to find rag wool socks in stores today, so I appreciate you carrying them. Rag wool is the basic of warmth this time of year. February 7, 2014

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Womens and Mens Ragg Wool Socks In Boot and Crew Lengths …

"I have always depended on The Vermont Country Store's print catalog when looking for a particular product. But one day I realized I'd never checked its online log. And there I saw Ragg Wool Socks, and it was like seeing an old friend. I had no idea that it was The Vermont Country Store where I had bought these socks in the past." - Tom Robischon, Los Angeles, CA
