Originally designed—nearly 50 years ago—to give peace of mind to dairy farmers who feared their barns would burn down if a cow kicked over a space heater while being milked, this fan-forced electric milk house heater shuts off automatically and displays a caution light if it tips over or if the temperature gets too high. Built to last, with rugged steel construction, our milk house heater has a 1,500-watt element with 2 heat settings, a fan-only setting, and a thermostat for comfort control to bring worry-free warmth to drafty homes, garages, and campers. Use on floor or table top. 171/2"Hx10"W x9"D. ETL listed.

  • Fan-forced electric heater
  • Rugged steel housing

In addition to cozying up your den, workshop, or porch, our milk house heater can help keep heating bills in check, as it requires less energy compared to a big furnace.

Security, but not great aesthetics It's nice to know that I won't have to throw away another low-quality, milk house-style heater after one or two seasons of use. The Vermont country Store's, built-in, life-time warranty results in an an extra up-front expense, but is well worth it. And because it is sold by them, I also trust that this is a better product to begin with. I only wish it came in off-white. January 8, 2015
Exactly as advertised Great product, well made, simple basic heater, nothing fancy....... the kind that lasts for years. Thank you December 2, 2014
Best Space Heater When my pipes froze this winter I pulled out my 25 years old Milk House Heater. When another wall froze I ordered 2 new Milk House Heaters. These heaters gently blow warm air right where you need it. They stay cool on the sides and top. They truly turn off if you tip the heater even a little. This is a reliable product - not fancy, it just does a good job. February 12, 2014

Milk HOuse Heater In Tennessee, our high temps are usually 50' in the past 2 -3 weeks we have been in the 20' and 30'. I have heard of this heater for ages...and finally bought one,,,,Glad I did,,,,,heating my room very quickly, thanks Vernont!!!! January 29, 2014
Now we can use the garage! Although we live in the South, it still gets too cold in the winter to do much work in our otherwise unheated garage -- problem solved!!! The Milk House Heater works exactly as advertised and heats an entire 2 + car garage to a comfortable temperature in less than 10 minutes, and it stays comfortable until we turn it off. The only funny part of our story is that our grown children think we pamper our two dogs too much (true) and that I said "Milk Bone" heater when discussing this product -- the groans were a little much! Thanks for a great, useable product December 30, 2013
Office heater I had never seen a milk house heater and then the week I ordered one a friend of mine mentioned how much he loves his milk house heater. I bought this for my secretary who has a chilly office. It heats very well. December 14, 2013
Built like a tank We lived in an old, drafty Victorian house with a damp, too-cold basement family room. We had tried different types of heaters down there to supplement the meagre heat, but these either didn't last long or didn't throw enough heat. But this heater can really take a lickin' and keeps on tickin', as the old Timex ads would say. Despite being knocked over by children and pets (which would cause it to automatically shut down) and moved around often, it still works as well as the day we bought it so many years ago. We also use it as a spot heater when working outside (like on the car) on a cold day to warm your feet and legs. Even the painted finish can take it! November 12, 2013
