Women's Striped Seersucker Button-Front Dress
Perfect for Florida
The 100% cotton seersucker material is perfect for the hot and humid weather here in Florida, while still allowing you to look cool and comfortable.
I'm happy that the Vermont Country Store still offers
this and their many other products.

Like it even more after additional wearing
Because I spend my clothes budget very carefully,
I rely greatly on customer reviews and want to
add to my previous review. As I've said, I had to
go down a size (not a bad thing at all, if you know
in advance that the garment runs large). I'm writing again because I now like this dress so much, I will
order it in a third color if it goes on sale.
Love the two big pockets.....can just throw in my
keys, wallet & cell phone and I'm good to go.
Front buttons easy to open/close with my stiff fingers.
Washes well in cold water, no ironing required.
Neckline and short sleeves mean bra straps
never show, which can be a problem in summer.
Well done, VCS.

Well made dress but not suitable for my shape. 5'4" 140 lbs. Liked everything except waist was not flattering-too bunched up.

Runs very large
I usually wear an 8 or 10 blouse, so I ordered the Small (6-8), but it fits more like a 12. Also, the fabric is very stiff. I washed the dress after one wearing in the hope that it might shrink or at least soften up (preferably both). I think it may have shrunk a little, but the fabric is still very crisp. At least it didn't turn into a limp rag, but it required some serious ironing and is still pretty wrinkled. If you usually buy a size larger than Small, I would advise ordering a size smaller than your usual (and don't wash till you have to!).

Seersucker is extraordinarily stiff
I'm a huge seersucker fan! Love wearing this fabric in the summer, nothing cooler. Last year I bought two sleeveless seersucker dresses from Vermont County store and was stopped every time I wore them. I was asked where I purchased it. I bought this dress hoping for the same.
The fabric is unusually stiff and had a funny smell when it arrived. I have washed it twice, it shrunk lengthwise in the dryer, and is still more stiff than I would prefer. However, I have a seersucker dress I bought 20 years ago, so I am sure that with time it will break in.
The buttons are nice and it will be a great house dress/housecoat for summer. I think the fit is too wide for the final length (after shrink)--but since options for seersucker are limited, I am grateful to have purchased it.
