"Whoever you got these for would have loved them."
When my mom was in the hospital, we were hoping against hope that she would leave the hospital. For a time, it looked like she'd recover in a nursing home. To encourage her, I bought her these PJs, knowing she would love them. Even though she was not doing well at all, she managed to make a fuss over them when I showed them to her. Sadly, she never needed them and we lost her. When I returned the PJs to the store in Chester, VT, I was a mess. I could barely talk. But the staff woman who helped me caught on and could not have been nicer. Her kindness meant a lot then and now.
