This dense, moist fruitcake made in a small Vermont bakery (so small, in fact, our supply is very limited) will forever change your opinion of this much maligned dessert. The baker mixes everything by hand, using only the best ingredients including apricots, cashews, dates, raisins, walnuts, Vermont honey, and flour. Each cake is baked, then drenched with brandy and orange liqueur. Absolutely no dyes or preservatives. 1 lb. loaf serves 6-8 people.

Our Personal Treat We love this fruitcake. It's our personal holiday treat that is too good to share. Our friends and family turn their noses up at "fruitcake," but this one is unique and incredibly delicious. They don't know what they are missing, so we don't bother to offer it to them anymore. Tasteless and dry Expected fresh fruit cake especially for the price. Almost totally devoid of moisture. Put brandy on it, helped a little, but was still crumbly! Talk about wary of fruitcakes the Vermont-made fruit, takes the cake! Received offer to replace, or refund. E-mailed I did not want it replaced, have heard nothing since. November 22, 2012
Excellent fruitcake A little overpriced, I am afraid but I got several free pieces of pecan shell. We usually get fruitcakes form several different places adn yours was the best. November 12, 2012
Did you forget to soak the cake? The ingredients for this cake are very good; it is unfortunate that they ended up in such a dry concoction. We purchased 3 of these cakes as gifts for our European hosts this holiday season. I would be embarrassed to give them to folks that have access to such great pastries. The cake is very dry – it cannot be cut into slices – it simply falls apart. I tried soaking one in spirits, it helped a little, but the fruit is so large – it still does not slice well. I have never eaten a fruit cake that really has no taste – my conclusion is they missed the soaking in orange liqure and brandy step – but remembered to leave the cake on the shelf for a year to make sure it dried out.
