Peppermint Pig Set (8 oz. Pig, Hammer, Velvet Bag)
Smash a Peppermint Pig in the Victorian Holiday Tradition
It started in Saratoga Springs, New York, back in the early 1880s. A pig, revered as a symbol of good health, happiness, and prosperity, was made from hard peppermint candy. After a holiday supper, it was broken in a cloth bag and the pieces were shared by all in the hopes of good fortune for the coming year. Our 8 oz. peppermint pig comes with a red velvet bag and a metal hammer to start your own holiday tradition. Replacement pigs and peppermint piglets (3 oz.) sold separately. This will make a delightful hostess gift that's sure to liven up a holiday party.

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Peppermint Pig Set (8 oz. Pig, Hammer, Velvet Bag) …
"WHILE TAKING A PIECE EACH SHARES WHAT THEY WERE THE MOST GRATEFUL FOR DURING THE YEAR. THEIR COMMENTS ALWAYS AMAZE AND PLEASE ME, ESPECIALLY THE TEENAGERS." - JO, ACTON, ME
"The Peppermint Pig and the small the small piglets are two of our favorites. We started sending the little Peppermint Pig to our granddaughter the first time we saw it at The Vermont Country Store and she takes it to school to share with her classmates. Our granddaughter is now nine and this year, she was asked by five different students if she was going to once again bring the little Peppermint Pig. Of course, we always buy the large Peppermint Pig to share with relatives and friends in our home during the Christmas holidays." - Roger Friest, ,
