Abigail Matelasse Bedspread
This is a bedspread made with an historical pattern. It will make you feel as though you have gone back to the Colonial Era in America. It is very pretty on the bed. It has a good weight to it so it makes you feel very cozy when you sleep under it. Because it has decorative markings for the edges of the mattress, it makes bed-making so much easier. It is very well made and should last many years with good care. I would call it Heirloom Quality. If you want a classic bedspread, this is it!!

The Abigail Adams Bedspread
I have always wanted an Abigail Adams Bedspread but could never afford one. When I was about 50 yrs old I found one in a department store. I put it on layaway! When I finally was able to get it out of layaway, I got the shock of my life! Someone had replaced the Abigail Adams Spread with a plain white chenille spread. We never found out what happened to my spread. Over the years I purchased 2 Abigail Adams lamps from Haupehaugh, N. Y. I have admired the spread for many years since. I am now 81 years and for Christmas my sister ordered the spread from you for me. What a surprise! I am now enjoying it everyday on my bed.

A Bedspread for the Ages
The Abigail Matelasse Bedspread gives your bedroom a touch of elegance like no other! Furthermore, it is still made in Maine, using the same looms the Bates Co. in Lewiston used for decades. Also, if you are historically minded, this bedspread is based on one John and Abigail Adams had on their bed in France, which gives this bedspread a heirloom quality to be treasured and passed on to generations to come. I have given this bedspread as presents, and the recipients love it. I highly recommend the Abigail Bedspread, especially for the master bedroom, where it can be fully used and appreciated.

The spread is what I had hoped it would be. Color is true to description and fits my king size bed perfectly. It is generous in length so it looks great when made up.

LOVE this bedspread!
This reminded me of a bedspread my parents had when I was little. This is the same quallity, heavy and durable, but with a beautiful weave and color that makes it quite lovely. Absolutely worth the investment.

Great Birthday gift
This was a gift to my sister for her birthday. We live far apart and cannot see each other as often as we would like. I really wanted something special for her this year. Her favorite color is blue so the spread was more than perfect. She is so happy with it so that makes me very pleased too. Vermont Country Store has never let me down. Their products are always of the highest quality. You can count on it.

Gorgeous but with one problem
This bedspread is really lovely. The workmanship appears to be excellent but what I really love is the soft look which is achieved by interweaving the color ( in this case the green) with the ivory. It even makes lying in the bed more of a pleasure! Also, there is a nice weight to it; It is substantial. I have mainly a pink and ivory color theme in the room and this soft green sets off those colors beautifully. My only complaint and request is that it be made to fit today's larger mattresses. As it is, it is about two or three inches too short on either side. (The head to foot measurement is fine however.) This really bothers me, but I guess there is nothing I can do.
Would VCS please ask the manufacturers to make it longer on the sides or at least offer two different lengths to better accomodate the variety of mattress widths. And if this can happen, let it be known in the catalog/online. If this happens, I'll order it again! Thank you.
