Not what I was trying to come close to Growing up in Montreal, I loved Smiles 'n Chuckles Fruit and Nut Eggs. I was hoping that this product would remind me of those. Sadly, it did not. I found it tasted like an average sugary confection. April 10, 2015
Fruit and Nut Egg This has been my husband's favorite Easter treat for as long as were we married. Use to be very easy to find but in the past several years, we could not find it at all. Much to our surprise we found it in the catalog! Ordered it with my fingers crossed. He begged to start eating it as soon as it came but I told him he had to wait till Easter. I finally gave in to his begging on the day before.....and he was thrilled to find it was totally what he was hoping for! I will be ordering this every year for him! April 9, 2015
There were very few fruit & nuts in the eggs. Very few fruit & nuts in the eggs. April 6, 2015
MMM MMM Good! Every year at Easter time I wait for these eggs to show up in the Vermont Country Store catalog. Every year I buy at least 3 of them for ME to eat. I used to be able to find them at many places when I was younger. Now I only see them in the V.C.S. catalog. This year I bought 4 eggs, the dark chocolate ones. If I didn't have Type II diabetes, I would have bought more. However, I have NO will power where they are concerned, so I have to limit myself...and take at least a week to eat them all. May Have Been Bottom of the Batch For years, my mom talked about this egg she used to get for Easter. Everybody looked at her like she was crazy because they had never heard of it. Then one day she saw it in Vermont County. I needed to order something else, so I ordered this egg for her while I was at it. It was all right--though it was better after being put in the refrigerator. However, we didn't really have a lot of fruit and not one nut. It is possible that our egg got the bottom of the batch, and we were just unlucky. For the price, it was disappointing. April 2, 2015
Didn't make it to Easter... These taste like the ones my grandparents gave us every year as children (along with a coveted $5 bill. :-) March 18, 2015
Ok, not great I live around Chicago where I have access to fruit and nut eggs. I saw these and figured I would try them out. Firstly, they are heavy and a nice portion size. The are packaged nicely. However, the egg filling was not like the fruit and nut eggs have access to. Nice amount of walnuts, but tiny specks of cherries and I could not see any pineapple. The list of ingredients include a lot of corn syrup and things you can't pronounce. Not my cup of tea. March 14, 2015
childhood Easter memory! I am 60 years old. I remember receiving one of these along with regular Easter basket (another memory!) as a child and they are solid, heavy and very sweet and rich and Momma would put it in the fridge. We would eat a little at a time. Momma is 91 now I would love to send her one just for the memories. I thought they were gone forever! March 12, 2015
