Tickled to find .. My best friend has talked about trying to find "a cricket for her hearth" for a long time. I wasn't familiar re the "good luck" legend, and couldn't find many others (storeowners) who had either, hence we never found one until I was glancing through your catalog!! I bought one for each of us, and now she's ordered two more. I really enjoy the wild stuff you have in your catalog!! January 19, 2013
Bad Luck My daughter is having some bad luck lately so I thought I would change that with the help of the cute little cricket. It will look adorable on her hearth and the quality is great. January 4, 2013
Almost a Talisman A spark flew from the hearth to the foam cushioned loveseat at the far end of the house from my dressing room bath. It was a pretty old brick place that would soon become an oven. I had just removed my work clothes and was about to step into a warm bath when I smelled smoke! Within four minutes the front of the house was in flames. In seven minutes the first responders had put out the fire but everything that was not burned, was cracked by heat, damaged by water, or blackened by a thick oily smoke. As I ran out the back door, I noticed that the white plastic wall phone had melted and was dripping like ice cream to the floor. Is there really such a thing as a good luck charm? Well, my friend gave me the beautiful brass hearth cricket saying that when your beautiful, southern home is restored, put it on the mantel. Maybe, it will ward off any future fires and bring good luck. Many years later, there have been no fires and many blessings. I gave my sister a brass cricket, too. She has one on her mantel. It is both shiny and "charming" and guards a little piece of our world. November 12, 2012
