Rated 5 out of 5 by The Best Teakettle My teakettle is 37 years old. It looks like heck now but I use it every single day and it never lets me down. The handle never gets hot, the kettle never drips or 'spits' and it is sturdy. I know I really should get another one but I just can't bring myself to do it yet. I give this teakettle to all newlyweds. January 11, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by My wife loves it for heating a cup of water for her instant coffee! My wife loves it for heating a cup of water for her instant coffee! I gave this to her as one of her Christmas presents. Works much better than the other tea kettles she tried. January 11, 2017
Rated 2 out of 5 by I liked the old style much better I just purchased my 4th stainless steel tea pot in 16 years from Vermont Country store. They hold up pretty well for 5 years of daily use. I loved the old style so much better. This new style has such a small opening I can't get my hand inside to dry it out or even clean it. I have average size hands for a woman. This new style also drips large amounts of water from the spout, which the old style never did. The lid has been changed also and it has seams which are hard to clean. The quality seems as good as the older styles, but I am very disappointed in the new style. January 11, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Is it possible to love a teapot? YES! I am an avid connoisseur of tea & coffee. (Really, that's just a fancy way of saying I like to drink hot beverages.) For the past 10 years, I'd been using a teapot that disappointed me in every way possible. It was too small, it had a teensy spout that drips, it was a pain to clean and an even bigger pain to fill. The handle heated up hotter than Hades, forcing me to use an oven mitt just to get near the thing. Everyone who has ever visited me knows how much I loathe that teapot. Of course, then, everyone who knows me also knows that I'm a notorious tightwad. I refused to throw the stupid thing away; instead, I hoped fervently that it would fall apart miraculously in the night...or, better yet, run away to escape the daily verbal abuse I subjected it to. Then, and only then, would I have an excuse to buy another one. But here's the worst part: there didn't seem to be a better option anywhere. Most tea kettles seemed to suffer from some combination of problems I already had. I had given up and my friends and family had resorted to wearing earplugs when they came for coffee, lest they have to hear me ranting, yet again, about how much I hated my stupid tea kettle. Just after Thanksgiving, I came to the Vermont Country Store website to buy my daughter a Lanz nightgown. Featured right on the front page was the tea kettle of my dreams. It was then that the clouds parted and angels began to pluck their heavenly harps. That shiny, stainless steel beauty even came in a 12-cup size. I hastily read the reviews, all of which glowed with lovely comments about the beauty and function of this glorious kettle. Without giving it another thought, I added it to my cart and ran to tell my dear husband that he needn't worry about a gift for me this year - I'd already taken care of it for him (and was he thrilled!). This way, I could justify the spend...right? *Now you say "yes"* When that gorgeous specimen (the teapot, not my husband - though he IS rather handsome...) arrived on my doorstep, I tore open the packaging and whisked it off to the kitchen to brew up some Bigelow. She is easy to fill, her spout is plenty long, she doesn't drip, she holds enough water to fill my ginormous French press, her Bakelite handle doesn't get too hot, she's a breeze to clean and, best of all, when she whistles, it is a lovely low hum. *insert me swooning -here-* Each morning, I find myself jumping out a bed with a spring in my step. I can't wait to trot out to the kitchen to say hello to my best friend. While I'm at it, I also usually say good morning to my husband, too. ;-) January 11, 2017

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Teakettle I love my little 8 cup stainless steel teakettle. I love the design and the sound it makes to let you know it is ready - not the typical whistle. It is the best!!!!!!!! September 19, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by a little disappointed Originally, I had the full size teakettle, purchased over ten years ago. It was very high quality, and I accidentally left it on the fire overnight. To my surprise, it was still in good shape when discovered the next morning. The new model has a different handle, and I find that it gets HOT after being on the stove just a little bit. Evidently, the maker is cutting corners. September 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quarter Century and still great! I bought this same tea kettle 25 years ago. Ours is a tea drinking family. That kettle is used day in and day out, and it is still boiling away quickly and looking just fine. The spout does not drip which is rare in tea kettles. You couldn't do better than this one.
