Back in the day, oilcloth used to be made by coating heavier weight cotton with linseed oil, which slowly cracked and peeled with age. This method became obsolete with the advent of non-cracking plastics. Sadly, what replaced most oilcloth was flimsy plastic cloth. Borrowing a page from yesteryear, our workhorse oilcloth is still made with real fabric, so it has the weight and drape of real cloth, yet is laminated to ensure it can stand up to years of wear and tear and your toughest kitchen tasks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Wrinkles on Heavy Duty Oilcloth Tablecloths I ironed the back side of Tablecloth, but there are still wrinkles on the front that I am concerned will eventually peel or crack. Would it be wise to place in dryer on a low setting? *** I do love the bird pattern, but expected better results for the price. June 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Now I have two I bought one for my kitchen table and am using it all the time. I bought white. Now I have one for the dining room table. I like how I can wipe off the crumbs and spills with a damp dish cloth. Now I don't want to go back to cloth table cloths! April 26, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not like oilcloth I remember I am not happy with the bright red color compared to photo in magazine looks more like burgundy and that is the color I wanted. Do not like the shiny finish on top, makes it look cheap. The oil cloth tablecloths I remember were much thicker and not shiny. I am using it to see how it holds up. The old ones lasted for years and wore like iron through many children. Kicking myself for paying this much for a tablecloth that is not as I expected. March 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Life Just got Simpler We bought the old fashioned oil cloth tablecloths, and have loved them so much that we sent one to each of our married children. March 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by THE KITCHEN PATTERN A few years back I bought the Kitchen pattern oil cloth. I noticed that I don't see that pattern listed anymore. The one I bought is still in excellent shape, but when the time comes for a replacement I would like to have the same pattern on hand. I love that pattern. Please advise if you are planning in the future to order that pattern again. Thanks and Merry Christmas December 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Oil Cloth table clothes A nice replacement for the old fashion oil cloth that was readily available in the 40's and 50's. This is vinyl ond a fabric backing and is very nice - even some of the patterns are like old fashion oil cloth patterns. Th only drawback I ind is that the edges on the short sides tend to roll up. Directions tell how to use an iron on the reverse side to flatten the cloth out. But - I no longer have an iron - I'll have to borrow one, but it will still be worth the extra effort. Rated 5 out of 5 by Just like Grandma's! I remember this type of oilcloth table covering from my grandmother's farm kitchen table, over 60 years ago. Now that I'm a great-grandma, I got mine to be used on wooden picnic tables when we visit our grand- and great-grand-children in our RV travels. July 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Blue Checked tablecloth love it. but one problem esp. when i leave it outside on patio table in the heat. it tends to curl up on the outer edges. even w/ironing on other side it does not lie flat. July 17, 2015
