Mountain Weave All Cotton Placemats

A Vermont Tradition Of Quality and Style

Made by our neighbors in Dorset, Vermont, these sturdy, practical Mountain Weave placemats recall the homespun fabric hand-loomed in the mountains of Vermont 150 years ago. 100% cotton is woven on state-of-the-art looms by master weavers, and then each one is individually cut and hand-fringed. 20"x14" Washing the placemats tightens the weave and softens the fabric. Expect some shrinkage because they are made of 100% cotton. For best results, machine wash cold and stretch the placemats while they line dry. USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has the correct color that I was looking for. I was looking for placemats that match the color green in my table cloth. June 24, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Shrinkage These placemats shrank to about half size when I washed and dried them. I am very unhappy about this purchase. Completely impractical to have to line dry table linens. Sorry I bought them. May 19, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lesser quality I purchased several placemats many years ago and since they were showing their age, I decided to purchase more in a different color to match my new color scheme. However the quality isn't what it once was. Before, I could take them straight from the dryer to the table. Now they have to be ironed and the appearance isn't nearly as nice. I would recommend them only if you like to iron, which I don't. February 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Table linens are wonderful The long-lasting materials and crafting of the tablecloths has made them the best gifts ever. Colors are fine. And when they need refreshing, they get washed. Now I'm trying out placemats in contrasting colors. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good quality The woven cotton placemats are exactly what I wanted. Upon arrival they, and the napkins, seemed a bit larger than normal, but after washing them they shrank down a little to the size I was expecting. The fluffiness of the fringe is pleasant, I think. The color selection is good. Since they're reversible it's fun to have the placemat one way and the napkin the other. November 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Yes they shrink , But are Beautiful ! I bought 4 of these with my Mountain weave tablecloth. I bought the Patriotic Blue and it is really pretty. Just like the tablecloth I washed them as soon as I got them, and threw them in the dryer. Please realize, that's Not the recommended care. But for me, I know I will never block and hang these to dry , so I wanted to see what I'd get washing them as I know I will. My Placemats came out at about 17" X 12 " and thicker and fluffier. That's Ok for me even though I usually use a little larger mat. You also can grab them while a little damp from the dryer and lay them out as you pull them into shape a bit. August 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Made in America! So glad to be able to still get the traditional mountain weave products through your store. Bought two place-mats to use. Only wish - that tea-towels (or dish-towels) were still available. Mine are wearing out after buying them in the 1970's and I sure wish I could get some more. July 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by A nice addition to my dining room table I purchased these along with the Mountain Weave table cloth. I noticed some new dings in my table so i purchased both to protect it. As with the table cloth my only complaint is that they aren't as thick as they were decades ago. From reading previous reviews i've come to the conclusion that they were made much better then than now. Other than that they are just what i was looking for with a very simple pattern which doesn't clash with my rug. June 28, 2015
