Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Mother I bought these for my mother who complained about the dish towels sold at the local big box stores not being absorbent. She longed for the old fashioned cotton towels that actually dried her pots and pans. I got these for her and she is absolutely delighted! January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Mom was missing 'flour sack towels' I can remember drying pots, pans, and dishes after dinner at Grandmas. I grew up with a dishwasher. It wasn't until I moved back into my parents home when I heard my Mom wishing she had some flour sack towels. I'm the chief pot and pan scrubber as well as the dishwasher loader. I now understand why she really missed these towels. These are cotton. The kitchen towels you can buy in the department stores are a loop knit. Yes they are kind of absorb. THESE TOWELS ARE GREAT! USE THEM, BLEACH THEM, WASH THEM AND DO IT AGAIN!!! January 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Larger than I thought I use flour sack towels to applique motifs on and give as gifts. I'd never purchased them before from Vermont Country, and thought I'd give them a try. I ordered the regular size and was pleasantly surprised at how big they were! Thank God I didn't order the larger size or I would be decorating bath towels! October 14, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't absorb. Since I know these towels are 100% cotton, I assume that they are coated with something that prevents them from absorbing water which is really annoying in the kitchen. I hope to be able to strip them of their coating. October 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love floursack towels! Floursack towels are the best for drying dishes and cleaning up around the kitchen. I never use anything else. They are also great when washing windows! October 13, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Use them for flour Based on the write-up on your website, these "towels" appeared to be a good buy. But the result was very disappointing. In our opinion, the towels are NOT very absorbent; they are very thin, with a flimsy feel when using; and they are too large to handle conveniently. They are nothing but large, crudely made squares of cotton that are not even attractive to have around! Maybe we can find some use for them, but . . . September 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best anywhere & two sizes! I originally bought these to use as dishtowels because they are so absorbent. Then my sister-in-law used them as napkins at a picnic and my husband couldn't stop talking about them, so I got him some. He carries one in the car with him constantly and uses it for everything. I think they would be great in a diaper bag or a lunch bag or almost anywhere. Once they are stained, they are great rags for around the house, too. I bought some elsewhere but they were nowhere near the quality of these -- not as soft or as absorbent and they didn't hold up as well. The small ones are big and the big ones are really big. Now my sister-in-law is wrapping gifts in them and tying them with twine or grosgrain ribbon. The feedback she gets is that people appreciate the wrapping as much as the gift. July 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Flour Sack Towels and Jubilee Kitchen Wax I love my Flour Sack towels, and can't find them readily. It seems I look everywhere for them so I just searched the Internet and found the Vermont Country Store. I haven't used Jubilee Kitchen Wax for years and was so glad to find that, too! July 6, 2015
