After months of searching, we located this much-requested dry iron, which had been absent from the marketplace for over 20 years. Many of our customers prefer a dry iron over today's steam iron because it is better for pressing starched clothes and they find that the smooth sole plate does not leave impressions on plush towels or clothing. Quilters and crafters like dry irons, too, for fusing appliqués. Dry iron features a cool-touch handle and temperature selection dial with fabric guide. 8 ft. long cord. ETL listed.

  • Dry iron has a smooth sole plate
  • Great for quilting and crafts

Rated 5 out of 5 by No Spitting! I was tired of steam irons that spit so I quit using steam in my iron...I went back to the old fashioned method of misting my fabric with a spray bottle. Then, my previous iron bit the dust and I knew it was time to make my move. Goodbye steam iron, Hello Dry Iron. I love my dry iron. It is hot and really does a great job. I would buy it again. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great new iron I quilt and sew nearly every day. I need an iron that gets hot and stays hot. I don't want steam or dimples from a steam iron. This one fits the bill. I love it. September 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by MY IRONING IS SO MUCH EASIER I love this iron!! it does not stick, it does not leave behind any marks or indents. When I do have to clean it, which is rare, I run it across some wax paper, which removes 100% of the dirtiness. Can't get much easier than that! as for actual ironing, you do not have to "push" the iron across the clothes, for it glides most effortlessly across most materials. Ironing around buttons is a breeze with this dry iron, as is ironing around zippers. Changing/setting the temperature for the kind of material you will be ironing is as easy as walking through the park....the dial turns easy & stays put where you set it at. Did I say I love this iron?? I encourage everyone to get one or two... if you have a vacation cabin, why not get a second one & store it there?? That way you never have to worry about packing the dry iron. : ) March 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ironing like I grew up with in the country in the fifties. Sometimes going back to the simple times is much better for some things. I enjoy modern conveniences as much as the next person. Iron is wonderful for ironing tablecloths, pillow cases, sheets, cotton clothing, and pressing when sewing. Iron is made of good quality materials and is easy to use plus has some modern features. The best of older and new. February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Product Performs wasn't sure if this iron was what I was looking for but I was REALLY impressed. I'm a new quilter and my regular iron just didn't cut it with having steam holes and lightweight. So I did a search for dry irons and I hit the jackpot with this one. Gives me seams that I wasn't able to get with the irons I was looking at in the stores around me. Thank you for this product. February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by wonderful product I use this iron in my demonstrations for making Fusible Applique shapes for quilting. I love the dry iron feature, with no steam holes. It is very helpful when using fusible products in quilting. I tell all my students and those who see my demonstration to go to the VCS to buy one! January 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best quilting iron I love the weight of this iron, the smooth stainless plate. Also it is always ready for me to press a seam. I have given them as gifts. As well as recommending to other quilters. January 3, 2015

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Dry Iron …

"Dear Mr. Orton, The very first time I saw your dry iron, I ordered it. I am thrilled with it. My new iron is very similar to the one that we got for our wedding in 1955, which served us well for more than 40 years. But it finally stopped working, so I bought one steam iron after another. I hated them all. Finally I have an iron I like—just in time for our 50th anniversary!" - Carol Cover, Northfield, MN

"This is the perfect iron for crafting. Leaves no marks on the fabric. I have given several of these for gifts!" - Andrew, Anderson,

"As a fiber artist, I run many pieces of fabric backed with freezer paper thru my computer's inkjet printer to print templates on the back side of fabrics with Inklingo. This iron is perfect for this use as I never have to be concerned with the fabric not sticking properly to the freezer paper due to the dimples in a regular steam iron or the iron not getting hot enough. I also like the weight of the iron; I don't find myself needing to press down as much as I used to." - Jillian, Hebron, ND

"I just finished ironing a dozen large white cotton napkins. It was wonderful to just sprinkle them, do something else for a bit, and then iron quickly without spitting, spurting, spotting. A breeze! Perfect." - Maxine Freeman, Boise, ID

"I'm troubled with arthritis, especially at my upper back and shoulders. I'm also a quilter; little bitty pieces of fabric that need to be pressed many times. I use steam so seldom, and my old iron was so heavy, even when I'd drain it. Plus it had all those little bubbles on the sole plate. This new dry iron is so light -- the heat is great -- the flat sole plate moves like silk over the seams. I had such trouble finding a dry iron, and this price is so affordable. I'm in dry iron heaven here. *S*" - Annie, Chicago, IL

"OK, let's see if I can get my point across. I love this iron! I also have a Namoto that I paid $380 for plus had to have it repaired twice at $100 both times. Again, I love this iron!" - Delilah Methe, Metairie, LA

"I used an iron like this my grandmother gave me. It broke, and I had to find another one. I was looking online and found another one just like it. You made me so happy--I loved that iron." - Jane Vazquez, Tampa, FL
