When warmer weather rolls around, there's nothing like throwing open a few windows and letting the fresh air in. Except when your windows are older and rotted sash cords (amongst other possibilities) prevent double-hung windows from staying up. We know folks who have tried using phone books, nails, even UPS boxes to keep their windows open, only to be surprised and rattled by their windows unexpectedly slamming shut. That's why when we found these window jacks, we recognized them to be a practical, much needed solution to a widespread problem. Made of sturdy pine, these window jacks are specially notched to keep windows securely open at 3 different levels. No more surprise slamming!

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Set of 3 Window Jacks …

""Back in the day," as they now say, I recall being in NE homes that had these practical solutions to windows that lost their way, no matter how old or not. But today, these wooden babies are better than a corrected window, in that they are a humanized, practical, charming solution to an engineering problem. I got three a number of years ago for Ma's 90-plus year old house; gave her another few recently, when I saw what she was otherwise using (so dangerous). These are just terrific and so "of a time and place." Still, you always need to be careful with windows that don't work correctly. But these help a lot." - Em, Williamsville, NY

"My one bedroom window won't stay open anymore. I was using a wooden ruler to prop it open and also a small glass vase when I didn't want it open very much. I really like the window jack as it has three prop-opening heights. It is sturdy and looks like it belongs there (unlike my makeshift props!). Worth the small price!" - Karen Nowak, Orchard Park, NY
