Rated 5 out of 5Â by Judy L. Great retro phone
I purchased this phone to replace an old beige Slimline that I've owned for 35 years. I bought the red which looks bright in the catalog but is actually a nicer softer red. It has a more pleasant ring than my old one but even on the lower setting it's still loud. The redial feature was not available on the old one so that is a nice upgrade. The buttons are much larger too and light up well in the dark. If you like the retro look and want a corded phone, I recommend this well made reproduction.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Maryland Senior More than I expected
I really needed a slim-width phone to fit in the space on the bookshelf by my chair. Once my Slimline phone was installed (and I muat say that fitting the cord into the socket on the bottom surface of the base was a real challenge) and I began to use it, I found it so much more useful than the phone it replaced. It is so easy to lift the receiver and find the dialing system, with big letters and numbers lit up with green light, ready to go, in my hand. I couldn't be more pleased.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Babyboomer Very poor quality
This phone was inexpensively made. It was poor quality & we would not have kept it for our personal use. We purchased it at the request of an older relative who saw it on line & was taken with the red color.
This does not well represent The Vermont Store we recall from earlier years.

Great to have a new phone by the computer...the only improvement might be one that has a volume adjustment. The iron works perfectly, and once the excess oil burned out it has been exactly what I need.
Thanks for all the personal attention to get me started!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Missing VT. GREAT PHONE BUT DOES NOT RING
I love this Crosley Model CR5002A-IV Trimline phone, with one exception. The one that I received does not ring. I can hear & talk if I happen to hear another phone ringing in a distant room, & I then pick up mine to answer it from a distance. Also, I can dial out. I have tried to set the ringer to loud, but that does not help. Perhaps just a lemon? It is hefty & seems well designed with the added modern touch of a well lit & large touch tone hand set.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Wickie Slimline Corded Phone
I have a black Slimline corded phone and wanted a red one for the purpose of having a spare one when the one I have stops working which I have had for over ten years. If it never does stop while I am alive, my granddaughters will have a replacement when I am no longer here!!!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Mrs. T. Good Corded Phones are hard to find.
A friend suggested I buy a corded phone from Vermont Country Store to replace the one I had purchased recently that didn't work. I finally got around to doing it and the minute it came in, I connected it and installed it in my kitchen. Perfect. Loud bells and clear sounds through the phone. Very happy with it.

Trying to find a phone with a cord these days is next to impossible. I had found one and only one and we used it mainly when we were giving our credit card numbers over the phone, but it had extras on it that caused it to have a button on the outside of the receiver to end the call so that if you weren't careful how you held it, you would disconnect your call. With this phone being just a plain phone with no extras, you can hold it however you want, even rest it on your shoulder while you do other things when you are put on hold for so long as frequently happens these days when you call for help, customer service, etc. The only drawback with it is that even when the ringer is set to low, it still is quite loud--just like the original ones used to be.
