The Clock Stopped Never to Go Again I should have heeded the negative comments about this clock. The clock went into use 15 days ago on my retro-curious son's 12th birthday, and in those 15 days I was unable to get it to keep proper time or to sound the alarm at the set time. Because my digital kid was concerned he'd overwind the clock, I've been the only one winding and setting it. Out of the box, the clock ran fast, and no matter where I set the time adjustment bar, the clock was either too fast or too slow. There was no "just right." The alarm went off anywhere from 20 minutes early to 10 minutes late, and tonight as I was completing the first twist of the winding key, I felt and heard the winding mechanism become unsprung. After just 15 days, the clock is dead. I'd hoped that this clock would be the reincarnation of the workhorse alarm clocks of my youth, but it is inferior in every way to any analog clock I've ever owned. December 2, 2013
An old friend There were always clocks like this one in my house growing up (there was nothing more electronic than the table radio). Today, a clock like this could be considered just a curiosity; but the "friendly tick" is real, and the loud double bell, when you really need to wake up. The old ones never had second hands (!). But it is nice to have, with its large numbers, and not a digital readout for a change. Too bad it could not have been manufactured in the United States! September 20, 2013
An Alarm Clock for Mom My 83 year old mom depends on me to wake her when she has morning appointments. Mom and I live in different states, but the magic of cell phones allow us to stay in touch and me to act as her alarm clock when necessary. I knew mom would prefer having some independence but I also know some of the newer (read digital) clocks might be confusing. The clock I ordered is perfect..and the alarm is loud enough to awaken mom. It's a great product that arrived on time and was accurately described in the catalog. Thanks for being a great company! Love you ...Big Ben Spring/Summer to our area brings rain storms and power outages! The Big Ben alarm is power free....no batteries either to go bad! Just wind it up and voila' off to sleep you go with NO worry of oversleeping for work/or play! A fabulous product! February 12, 2013
Daughter remembers Grandma's My daughter remembers Grandma's and wanted one like hers. She loves to hear the tick of the clock.I said to her that will keep you awake,OH no that will make me sleep better. She hates the digital clocks. Now mind you she is not a young chick 60 plus. And I her mother 90 knew just where I could purchase a old timer. I have found out long ago if it was made you probably have it in your store. February 6, 2013
Just a matter of time Purchased the Bulova Twin Bell Alarm Clock in the fall of 2012. I chose this clock because of the trusted name and no batteries or electricity is required. The clock does not keep the correct time even after several adjustments that are suggested with the insert provided by the company. Also the alarm does not always go off at the set time. Very unhappy with this product as well as the money spent. January 15, 2013
a real wind up clock in an iconic style bought to replace one that looked like it. We use it to sound a reminder that it is time to pick up toys and get ready for the school bus. It is kind of cheesy, sharp edges on metal pieces and a very harsh tone. It is very difficult to regulate. August 19, 2012
