Made by our neighbors in Dorset, Vermont, these sturdy, practical Mountain Weave cotton tablecloths recall the homespun fabric hand-loomed in the mountains of Vermont 150 years ago. 100% cotton tablecloths are woven on state-of-the-art looms by master weavers, and then each one is individually cut and hand-fringed. Washing the tablecloth tightens the weave and softens the fabric. Expect some shrinkage because it is 100% cotton. For best results, machine wash cold and stretch the tablecloth while it is line drying. USA.

  • Soft, welcoming 100% cotton
  • Cotton tablecloths are reversible for double the wear
  • Machine wash cold, then stretch the cloth while it’s line drying

Oh No - It Shrinks I purchased this tablecloth and absolutely loved the color and the texture. However, when I washed it, it shrunk really bad. I washed it in cold water and hung it up to dry, thinking I would be safe. I was very disappointed. September 10, 2013
I LOVE this tablecloth! I have wanted to own a tablecloth like this for more than 30 years, when I first saw it on the table of my friend. Having 8 children, it seemed we were always having to pinch pennies, but I got some money for my 70th birthday and thought, "This is it!" I took the plunge, ordered the tablecloth and couldn't be happier. Forest green is my favorite color, and a theme color in our home. Thank you so much for your high quality products! March 18, 2014
hard to find a cotton tablecloth Buy a size larger and shrink using hot wash water. The weave is very loose and the tablecloth will shrink over time anyway. I bought an ecru/beige tablecloth and the color was very disappointing so I shrunk it and bleached it. It now fits and is a lovely ivory color, much more suitable to a diningroom. I think it would be much better if these came preshrunk and in solid colors suitable to either kitchen or diningroom. The choices are too "folksy" for my taste and the only way I knew how badly the cloths would shrink over time was because I had bought one and after a year, it was too small for the table. And, no, it is impossible to remove food stains without bleach so the colors ought to be colorfast, solid and more subtle. February 17, 2014
Americana warmth My new Mountain Weave Tablecloth is just what I was looking for to protect the top of our new wood dining table. I ordered the cranberry & white check and it is just what the picture looked like. Whenever I am looking for the hard-to-find items, instead of wasting hours looking through catalogs or online, Vermont Store has become my go-to-catalog. If you don't have the item, then it's not out there anywhere. Thank you for carrying such a quality product that will last a long time. February 15, 2014
The Incredible Shrinking Tablecloth I bought three of these table cloths last year - MUCH larger (as recommended) than the normal dimensions - about 15" of overhang all around. Washed them in cold water - only 1/4-dried them on EXTRA LOW temperature - they were still very damp when taken out of the dryer. My husband and I would have a tug-of-war stretching them to cover the tables as they got smaller and smaller. They seemed to have stopped shrinking, but now barely cover the tables and are useful only as padding. I have never seen anything other than a wool sweater shrink as much as these do. I suppose some people have enough space to hang them - unfortunately, I don't, nor would I have the time to wait for them to dry as I had planned to use them regularly. They were lovely for a short period of time, but they didn't work out for me. February 4, 2014
anticipate shrinkage These cloths launder well and dry nearly wrinkle free. After 2 washes my 108" x 62" became 93" x 53". Keep this significant shrinkage in mind and you will enjoy your purchase. The white, incidentally, is attractive, shading ever so slightly toward ivory. January 17, 2014
So very glad I found them! I had one of these tablecloths for many years while raising my kds. No matter what they would spill the tablecloths came through the wash ready to throw back onto the table. Somewhere along the way I didn't have it anymore. Then looking at this website I discovered them again. I ordered two this time so my grandkids can enjoy their meals without me worrying about what kids do naturally. One for the kitchen table and one for the dining room table. They do shrink if put in the dryer so I just ordered one size larger than what I needed. Wonderful and dependable to keep their inviting and casual look. January 3, 2014

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Traditional Mountain Weave Pure Cotton Tablecloths …

"My husband and I have only been married for 7 years today, but I "inherited" a whole house full of stuff when we got married. There was a whole box full of these tablecloths, and most had been used only a few times, but many had seen a number of years of use, some up to 20 and were still serviceable. I saved the red and green one for Christmas, and the blue one for everyday, and the rest I shared with family...they are still in great shape!" - cathi cogle, Seymour, TN

"I have been ordering Mountain Weave tablecloths and napkins for about 30 years. Even the oldest ones are still in good shape. Our family uses them every day, as well as for company meals. Whenever we changed decor or table size, we just ordered more. They all come in handy in our new house, where we have room to set up several tables at one time for parties. They can't be beat for easy care, cozy appearance, and durability." - Shannon Chamberlin, Little Rock, AR

"These are my favorite tablecloths. A friend from New England introduced me to them years ago. The best thing about them is no ironing is required! And they come in a host of wonderful colors. They are great for everyday use and also for company. I love the feel of the cotton; it's so much better than the polyester table linens everyone else sells." - Kathleen Panek, Springfield, PA

"I inherited several of these wonderful tablecloths from my mother, and I know a few are over 30 years old. The best part is that I have colors that are no longer offered! Now that I have a new adjustable table, I'm so glad I can order some new for myself, in colors my mother couldn't get!" - Wendy Saunders, Oyster Bay, NY

”The woven table cloth is beautiful and easy care! It can be dried on the air setting without shrinkage and removed promptly with no need for ironing. My family and friends have commented on how nice it looks. I plan on purchasing it another color.” - Karol-Ann Rogers, Feeding Hills, MA
