Classic Fifteen Puzzle
SO MUCH FUN
Had one of these growing up and now it's like going back in time. Loose track of time when I start using it but it's a good exercise for the mind. Once again thank you Vermont Country Store.

When I was growing up this was one of the toys given to me at Christmas time. I spend many hours playing with it and enjoyed the challenges it brought. I still enjoy playing with it in my old age.

Who says that you can't go home again? Every autumn without fail, my husband and I travel to Vermont...and every year we make sure that we stop at the Vermont Country Store in Weston. It always becomes a stop that easily lasts a few hours, for it's not just a store to us, but a definitive step back in time. We fill up small bags of 'penny' candy, always notating which were our favorites when we were growing up. We reminisce about our parents' and grandparents' homes as we pick up items that haven't touched our hands in years. Last year, we decided to give our grandsons, ages 7 & 10, gifts only from the Vermont Country Store. We always have especially enjoyed the toys on display. It has been a virtual time machine for us as we envision our carefree, youthful days with the exact same toys. Our grandsons were enthralled with all of what we purchased and seemed to appreciate the simpler art of the item versus the high technology that they are so used to. One of the purchases was the Classic Fifteen Puzzle for both of them. It was a staple throughout my own childhood. I spent endless hours curled up in a chair with one. Just a couple of weeks ago, almost a year later, I was bringing them to school. The 11-yr. old seemed transfixed by something. I asked, "whatcha have?" He held up his puzzle and said, "I love this...I carry it everywhere with me". I wasn't even aware of this. I smiled, realizing that it had become his staple as well, and that someday he would visit the Vermont Country Store and reminisce about the same childhood memories as myself. In the words of Bob Hope..."thanks for the memories".
