Made by our neighbors in Dorset, Vermont, these sturdy, practical Mountain Weave cotton tablecloths recall the homespun fabric hand-loomed in the mountains of Vermont 150 years ago. 100% cotton tablecloths are woven on state-of-the-art looms by master weavers, and then each one is individually cut and hand-fringed. Washing the tablecloth tightens the weave and softens the fabric. Expect some shrinkage because it is 100% cotton. For best results, machine wash cold and stretch the tablecloth while it is line drying. USA.

Good thing I can sew. I had ordered my tablecloths directly from the manufacturer for the past 40 years but they, sadly, have gone out of business. I was delighted to discover VCS carried what I thought was the same product. Much to my disappointment, the product is thinner and shrinks A LOT more. The cloth I was so excited to receive as a gift, has been made into napkins because after washing according to directions, didn't even cover the table. May 12, 2013
Beautiful Just perfect, the cloth did shrink a little more than I thought it would, but it fits the table. I really like the color. The table cloth reminds me of the ones my Mom and Great- Grandmother had on their tables. The weave is just beautiful. I will be ordering another, in a different color, and just a little larger. I ordered the 52"x72", so maybe the next size up will give me the over hang that I want. I bought the Natural color, and really like the blue. So, next order a little larger and in another color. The style of the cloth fits into my older home perfectly. May 7, 2013
You need a better calculator!!! Your 72" long tablecloth, after one washing on the gentle cycle in cold water and line drying, no longer fits my 60" table. The fringe barely gets to the ends of the table. One foot of shrinkage on a six-foot tablecloth comes to a 16% reduction, by my calculations -- not 7%, as you represent. Please ask your weavers to adjust their sizes to offset some of the shrinkage for future buyers (of whom I will not be one), or prewash them before you release them to customers. April 18, 2013
Beautifully Tablecloths I had these tablecloths years ago when we had a country style to our furnishings. Our style has changed, but our love of these tablecloths hasn't. I ordered two, one for our dining room and one for the kitchen. You must order up in size. They will shrink after the first washing !! So prepare yourself in advance, but then you will have them for years. They wear like iron if you care for them the proper way. We are very happy with our terra cotta and our sage tablecloths.....beautiful!! March 6, 2013
Wonderful Product It distresses me to read the several negative comments and I wonder if these folks actually know what they are talking about. I have been purchasing these table cloths in different sizes and colors for nearly 50 years. They have NOT changed in quality. As to the shrinkage, everyone should know that cotton shrinks. I would advise that they shrink more than the 7% listing. I buy my cloths at least 2 sizes larger than I need. I then wash them in very hot water and dry them on the hottest temperature. I do this twice. I, then, usually have a perfect fit. It the cloth should be too big, I would cut them down and use the excess for a napkin or basket liner. These cloths are the finest on the market. They never wear out and are made in America. What more do you want? February 26, 2013
Sadly Disappointed... I have never purchased anything from Vermont Country Store that was so cheaply made. I've been a loyal customer of Vt Country Store for many years and have always been satisfied and pleased with my purchases. Imagine my disappointment when, I washed my new tablecloth, dried it (on my clothes rack), and put it on my table. I was shocked to say the least...it shrunk so much it no longer fit my table and furthermore it was a wrinkled uneven mess. Has Vt Cnty Store switched suppliers? I purchased 2 tablecloths at the same time and I have not yet washed the other one and I'm hesitant to do so. I don't mind paying more money for a well made product but I do resent paying for something I will never be able to use. I am extremely disappointed. February 12, 2013
i can see right thru it!!!! i bought a mountain weave tablecloth and i am so disapointed!!! i have one that my mother gave me twenty years ago and this new one is cheap. i can see right thru it. not so with my "old" one. what a shame. i also bought the chenile bedspread and i can see my sheets thru it also. i did like the bedspread i bought a "bates" candlewick type. i will think twice before ordering from vermont again. sorry. i do like your nightgowns. at least for now. sorry. Nostalgic tablecloth This is the tablecloth that was on my grandma's kitchen table for years. It fondly reminds me of her, and it was exactly what I was looking for for my kitchen table. I was so thrilled to find it at the Vermont Country Store and it brings me joy every day! It arrived quickly and is lovely quality! February 1, 2013

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Traditional Mountain Weave Pure Cotton Tablecloths …

"My husband and I have only been married for 7 years today, but I "inherited" a whole house full of stuff when we got married. There was a whole box full of these tablecloths, and most had been used only a few times, but many had seen a number of years of use, some up to 20 and were still serviceable. I saved the red and green one for Christmas, and the blue one for everyday, and the rest I shared with family...they are still in great shape!" - cathi cogle, Seymour, TN

"I have been ordering Mountain Weave tablecloths and napkins for about 30 years. Even the oldest ones are still in good shape. Our family uses them every day, as well as for company meals. Whenever we changed decor or table size, we just ordered more. They all come in handy in our new house, where we have room to set up several tables at one time for parties. They can't be beat for easy care, cozy appearance, and durability." - Shannon Chamberlin, Little Rock, AR

"These are my favorite tablecloths. A friend from New England introduced me to them years ago. The best thing about them is no ironing is required! And they come in a host of wonderful colors. They are great for everyday use and also for company. I love the feel of the cotton; it's so much better than the polyester table linens everyone else sells." - Kathleen Panek, Springfield, PA

"I inherited several of these wonderful tablecloths from my mother, and I know a few are over 30 years old. The best part is that I have colors that are no longer offered! Now that I have a new adjustable table, I'm so glad I can order some new for myself, in colors my mother couldn't get!" - Wendy Saunders, Oyster Bay, NY

”The woven table cloth is beautiful and easy care! It can be dried on the air setting without shrinkage and removed promptly with no need for ironing. My family and friends have commented on how nice it looks. I plan on purchasing it another color.” - Karol-Ann Rogers, Feeding Hills, MA
