Made by our neighbors in Dorset, Vermont, these sturdy, practical Mountain Weave placemats recall the homespun fabric hand-loomed in the mountains of Vermont 150 years ago. 100% cotton is woven on state-of-the-art looms by master weavers, and then each one is individually cut and hand-fringed. Machine wash, line dry. Expect 7% shrinkage because of the loose weave. USA.

Disappointed
I have other placemats and tablecloths from which must be the original manufacturer and in comparision, these are a cheap knockoffs. The quality is not the same and they do not launder well.

Great quality
At first I was a little disappointed, as I was hoping for a heavier-weight woven placemat, but the bright yellow color has lasted through several washings, and they don't hold food stains. There is no sign that the weave won't hold, so that's a good thing, too. I don't put them in the dryer, and just smooth them out and hang them over a rod to dry. Quite satisfied with my purchase after the little disappointment.

great product for the kitchen/dining table.
I have been buying these for years. Both as placemats and as tablecloths. I have found them sturdy and pretty. Highly recommended.

Pretty & practical
I have been eyeing these in the catalogue for a long time. A no-shipping offer finally coaxed me to buy them. I like them very much. They are light-weight. The color is lovely. Something great and made in the US! I have not used them yet so I do not know what it might be like to clean them. That is my concern now. I got one set for us and one set as a gift.
