Made by our neighbors in Dorset, Vermont, these sturdy, practical Mountain Weave cloth napkins recall the homespun fabric hand-loomed in the mountains of Vermont 150 years ago. 100% cotton napkins are woven on state-of-the-art looms by master weavers, and then each is individually cut and hand-fringed. Washing the napkins tightens the weave and softens the fabric. Expect some shrinkage because they are made of 100% cotton. For best results, machine wash cold and stretch the napkins while they line dry. USA.

Disappointed Pros: Lovely colors. Cons: Horrible shrinkage on the first wash. Also, for some reason, the rust ones shrunk significantly more than the beige ones. I did stretch them out after the initial wash, and I air-dried them, as recommended, but frankly I don't want to make that kind of time investment in my table linens. I want a throw-it-in-the-washer-with-the-towels, throw-it-in-the-dryer-and-forget-about-it experience. If I do that with these, in a few washes, I'll probably have napkins the size of coasters. Won't be buying these again, and can't recommend that anyone else do so either. Unless maybe you get them dry-cleaned instead. (Insert earlier comment about time investment here.) P.S., this is the first time I have ever been unhappy with a VCS purchase. I kind of wish I hadn't made the purchase, but having already washed and used the napkins, I don't feel like I can send them back. March 25, 2014
Love these! I used some napkins at a friends house and I really liked them and went on a quest to find some like them. They were soft and just worked well. Not like the slick cheap ones I kept ending up with. I just accidentally ran across these napkins on The Vermont Country Store website and they looked a lot like the ones I had used so I spent the six dollars each and bought six. I love them. No ironing. I just keep them folded by the kitchen cabinet and grab them for dinner. They aren't huge but they are big enough. They get softer with washings (and they were soft before washing). I like them. A lot! December 27, 2013
Great napkins Love these! Do shrink when washed but still a good size for dinner. Wash, dry and fold . No need to iron! Will definitely buy more. Use them daily June 19, 2013
A Touch of Nostalgia We live in Breezy Point, NY and were affected by Hurricane Sandy. In doing over our living room, my husband and I, as we have done with the rest of our home, try to modernize while keeping a bit of what's important for us, family memories. We have a great round decorative side table which belonged to my mother-in-law, Faith, who purchased it around 1935. I have refinished it and oiled it with a fine tung oil finish and always seek to expose most of the top, while preserving it from an occasional plant or fresh flowers. I wanted a small table cloth to cover part of it. I knew what I wanted and found it in your online catalog! I chose 2 different colors to change once in a while. Thank you for helping us to refurbish our home while preserving family memories! June 6, 2013
Great quality in lovely hues I bought these napkins to go inside breadbaskets I purchased at the same time. I chose the Mountain Weave napkins (terracotta) because they coordinated so well with wood. The quality of the napkins are top shelf. I could not be any happier with the outcome especially considering every item was made in the USA! I greatly appreciate it that Vermont Country identifies the origin of their products. Their customer service is the very best. I wish other companies would try to imitate them. March 13, 2013
Quality is Everything! Once you purchase one of these Mountain Weave table cloths or napkins you are hooked on wanting more in your home. They also make splendid gifts and are something you will cherish for many years. In 1968 I was given a set as a wedding gift a table cloth and napkin set and then a family member gave me a gift card for Christmas to the Vermont Country Store - and there they were!!!!! How I love my new set that match my Johnson Bros Hearts and Flowers dishes. Splendid! Thank you! March 6, 2013
Love my Mountain Weave Cotton Napkins Washed beautifully and with a little extra spray on the red pasta sauce stains they looked like new again. January 28, 2013
Family Tradition My mother purchased several of the mountain weave tablecloths for herself when I was a young woman. I admired them very much. I waited to get one for myself until my boys were older. When we retired I got two more tablecloths and tried a set of the napkins. I liked the napkins very much and recently bought a second set to go with the other tablecloth. I purchased a tablecloth for my daughter-in-law a couple of years ago and she always has it on her kitchen table-albeit-covered with a vinyl topper. January 22, 2013

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Traditional Mountain Weave 100% Cotton Napkins …

"I have used these napkins for years and absolutely love them. They are absorbent, wash beautifully, require no ironing, and always add beauty to the table. I have not had to use thousands of paper napkins because I started using cloth ones 20 years ago. I just ordered some in a new color!" - Penny Peterson, Rochester, NY
