Genuine 54" Wide Oilcloth By-The-Yard
Genuine 54" Wide Oilcloth by-The-Yard
I've purchased this material in a table cloth already made and hemmed. I love love love the material but the odd sized table that I have is not standard so I've decided to make my own. I also like aprons made from this material. However I would like to request a new design dark green to a yellowed green fern pattern on white. (Reason: ferns are found all over the world and food and even patterned dishes look fantastic on green leaf patterns. It would have the eco-friendly look so many folks are gravitating to nowadays.) Makes a great gift for a British wife
Not use to seeing items such as this in Alabama. This item and many others remind my wife of her home in London. Really cheers her up as she has not been home in a while.

LOVE this fabric
I got this because my 2 grandchildren are always coloring and using markers at the kitchen table which is now stained. This fabric is heavy-duty and wipes clean in an instant and can be cut to any size. The red/white checked looks lovely in my Red country kitchen!

A Christmas Tradition Saved!
Every year at Christmas I make poteca for my sister and brothers. It's a sweet yeast dough pastry that has to be rolled out to 20"x30" before the filling of ground walnuts, brown sugar, butter, and flavorings is spread on, rolled up, and baked. Our grandmother and mother would make it every year and since they are both gone now, it's up to me to carry on the tradition, which I love.
Last year, there was no poteca because by the time I discovered my husband had thrown out my pastry cloth instead of washing it, it was too late to do anything about it.
This year, however, I got smart. I ordered a one yard length of oilcloth from Vermont Country Store and let me tell you, it is the perfect pastry cloth. It has just enough "grab" that you don't have to use much flour, but at the same time the dough slides over the surface without sticking. And clean up is a breeze.
Thank you so much, Vermont Country Store, for saving a tradition and a marriage!
