You will NOT be sorry you bought this! I'd purchased a similar product at one of the chain stores and returned it within a day, very disappointed. It occured to me to see if the Vermont Country Store carried an apple peeler, guessing that if it did, it would <not> disappoint, and was I right! There is no comparison between this product and the other, and just a small difference in price. Just make sure the apple is still firm...once they start to go soft it doesn't really work. There's nothing like the smell of homemade applesauce and I love the ease of making old-time hash with no trouble at all. Amazing device..I highly recommend it! March 14, 2013
A PEELING Times together When my two boys were young, about 3 and 5 years old a friend gave me the apple peeler from Vermont Country Store. It was a time when we didn't have a lot of spare money, but slicing up an apple and snacking on it was a simple, fun task, made more exciting with the peeler. Nothing like a gizmo with a suction cup and result of food to keep boys interest! I always had help making pies and cobbler or apple crisp. We even tried potatoes...hmmm that hole in the middle not necessary! My oldest boy's favorite snack is still a sliced apple and he is 19 years old!
