Aluminum Ice Trays (Set of 2 Trays)
Aluminum Ice Trays Ain't What They Used To Be
Both my husband and I remember the good old days when the freezer was filled with aluminum ice trays for cold drinks. We saw them featured in your magazine and jumped for joy. Unfortunately, our jumping has come to a screeching halt. The trays are not as durable. After only a few uses, the handle on one bent and they don't stack well at all. The directions say that you need to sit them out for a few minutes prior to using handle - my Gran never did. And least we forget the water left on the counter if you do so. We are very disappointed with our purchase as well as the price for the quality. But.....the good old days are gone and we must chalk this up and thank God for those days gone by.

Nothing like the Original
Extremely disappointed in the quality; made of very cheap aluminum, not sturdy aluminum like the originals were. Like others have said, the handle to release the cubes is not very strong. Even after pouring water over cubes and under the tray, they are very difficult to remove. Wish I had read the reviews before I purchased them. Don't waste your money on these!

Broke on first try
They looked great upon arrival but when my husband took out the 1st tray filled with ice, the lever wouldn't budge. It ended up braking in order to get the ice out. I will be sending them back.

This product is poorly made.
This ice cube tray broke the second time I used it. I followed the instructions about running water under the tray to loosen the ice cubes but the handle still broke under the pressure. One of the bolts that hold the handle acually fell out. The tray appears to have bent and does not sit flat. This product is cheaply made and is nothing like the original metal ice cube tray that I have used for years.

Don't waste your money
Just as other reviewers have said, the trays break the first time you use them. Having owned this type, (the real deal) I am aware of the steps required before trying to release the ice cubes. None of that mattered with these cheaply made knock-offs.

They look like the old trays, but they sure aren't built like them. I didn't let it sit out long enough, something you didn't have to do with the old trays, and the first one broke on the first use. I let the ice start to melt with the second tray and so far it's still whole.

TRAYS TO STAY
Before all the "automatic" ice makers were introduced in the modern refrigerators, we had the "tried & true" ice cube trays with the "automatic" handle that you would pull to operate. The ice cubes were always perfect and never "clogged". After replacing three modern ice cube maker units over the years, I was so pleased that Vermont Country Store came up with my cherished old standby. I bought your ice cube trays for both my daughter(her ice cube maker unit crashed for the second time) and her son (in college with a small refrigerator) as the plastic ice cube trays "split" and many times shred the cubes.
