Pouring
Does not pour with lid on without running down bottle and yes the lid is turned to the pour spout.

Wonderful Glass Jugs
I love these glass jugs. I use the 1 liter sizes and they fit into my refrigerator door perfectly. I keep two filled with iced tea, one with water, and one with juice or some other drink. I find that I had to take the lids off to keep the jars from dripping when I pour. But these jugs are a nice, heavy glass and a wonderful addition to the kitchen.

Just what I wanted.
I like to use these for fruit juice, V8, iced tea, etc. Save money by purchasing juice in cans and transferring to these pitchers! As other reviewers have indicated, they don't pour quite as well with the lid on, but no problem...just remove the lid before pouring!
(And THANK YOU, Vermont Country Store for sending me some more biscuits when the first lot were broken... I wanted to update my review for those, but the website wouldn't allow it, so I'm writing it here!) Your customer service is great.

Am buying second smaller one.
Have and am pleased with the large size. Had no trouble with lid or spills but a bit heavy if making smaller quantity.
Have one concern: what if something happens to the lid, is it replacable? These are such sturdy glass I don't anticipate anything happening to it.

Leaky
They're beautiful but when you try to pour with the lids on they leak down the front and out the sides. Removing the lids helps but the lip/spout on them is very small.
I gave this two stars because they are as described, except for the lids.

Don't purchase
I am very disappointed with these jugs. When pouring from them with the plastic cap in place, liquid runs down the outside and creates a mess. Pouring without the cap is better, but still not satisfactory. I do not recommend purchasing them.
