Space saving, but not airtight Although these canisters look great on my counter and save space, they are not quite big enough to store sugar and flour, and they are also not airtight. They will be good for storing pasta or beans, but I wouldn't recommend them for any other purpose. December 11, 2012
Not Airtight!!! I ordered 6 of these canisters and in the first shipment only got 3, and one was cracked. I called right away and VCS was great about sending out 4 more, 1 to replace the cracked one and the other 3 that I hadn't gotten. I just washed the two and neither one is airtight, even after I struggle to adjust the tops. I put some soapy water into them and shook them to clean them, and water just kept fizzing out of the tops at the seams where the rubber ring was. I am still going to try to use them for food storage and hope that the bugs don't get in as I can't find any other in the large size for pasta and I think it would be too much of a hassle to return them, but am disappointed that they are not airtight, as it says in the description.
