Memories
A family friend had one of these when I was a child. When we would visit, the lights would be turned off in the formal living room and this trinket would create playful shadows on the ceiling. Even as kids, we would seek out some quiet time, laying on the floor in that room.
I wasn't sure how the quality would be after 35 years of commercialism and competition. I was pleasantly surprised by this item and hope my children come to like it just as much

Not at all the Quality I Expected
I have ordered through VCS, several times through the years, and usually they have nice quality items. This was not the case with this product at all. I thought it was very flimsy, looked very cheaply made. From the picture it looked like a high quality item, but in my opinion, it was just to thin and flimsy. What was irritating was that with the replacement pack of candles that I bought to go with this, it was not a cheap item. If not for the postage, I would have returned it immediately. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I had planned to use it for a Christmas centerpiece, but it was just to cheap looking. I expected a much sturdier product.

Favorite Christmas Childhood Memories!
I remember the absolute delight every year when my mom unpacked and decorated our house for Christmas! It's still my favorite time of year and I still take the time to share the decorating with my daughters (now 21 and 23 years old). Every year when my mom set up the 'Magic Angels' she would have to get replacement candles because I loved to watch them so much! I'm not sure where her set is now but I haven't seen it out in a few years and was so excited to see that you carry it...can't wait to get my own!!! Going through your website and finding this particular decoration, I really just got tears in my eyes remembering such a wonderful time in my childhood! Thank you for keeping traditions alive by carrying some of the most unique items! I now know where I'm going to be doing a lot of my shopping from now on!

We had an heirloom angel chime that lost some parts. I have purchased 3 other replacements...none of which worked well. Yours is ablolutely fabulous...with great assembly notes!!! Thank you for enhancing our holiday table!!!!!

old times
I grew up with these angel chimes. Every Christmas, my mother would decorate the house with these and other memorabilia from the past. I was excited to see these and other items that I haven't seen since the fifties. Just bought these chimes for my grandchildren to enjoy throughout the coming years, as I did.

The Ghost of Christmas Past
My grandparents had a chime exactly like this one. Every Christmas Eve, they'd light it and my Dad and uncles would gather around it and gaze at it. As they were a particularly rowdy group of boys, this was quite an accomplishment.
Many many years later, it came into my possession. I can't recall if my Grandma gave it to me directly or if my father passed it to me once my grandparents had moved from their home of sixty years.
I cleaned it and polished it carefully -- the metal was very thin and malleable -- and added the candles. Upon lighting it and hearing the delicate chimes call out brightly, memories that I'd never known I possessed came flooding back. I remember my Grandma lighting it and my gazing at it in a darkened room with the same awe my own father had felt.
To this day, I light it and feel that annual connection. Grandma and Grandpa are there with me again, in spirit, Gramma busily wrapping gifts in the old wrapping paper she saved and reused each year, and Grandpa smiling proudly in his plaid padded shirt. The feeling is priceless.
I've since bought two of these chimes for other family members, hoping that it will spark (pun intended) delightful family memories for them as well.

Christmas Enchantment
Ever since I could remember, these chimes were a big part of my family's Christmas tradition. The candle glow and the sound of the chimes were part of the enchanting quality of the magic of Christmas. Then, the parts were broken or fell off, as they someyimes do, and we couldn't find replacement candles. I was so excited when I saw these chimes in your catalog. It brought back so many memories of Christmas from days gone by. This is truly a Christmas treasure.
