great for small places, but fell apart. Thank goodness for duct tape! I bought this vacuum for its compact size and hoped it would be strong enough to clean the dirt from the gaps in my old farm house floors. It was all that until the side clasps that hold the canister lid & hose on, fell apart. How disappointing. The warranty is over, so now I keep it held together with duct tape - which is much cheaper than paying to have it fixed. The suction is still great so until the motor goes, I'll keep using it. great little vacumn I love this vac. It has great power and picks up dirt and small items well. I gave it a 4 only because of the accessories. They are plastic and I've gotten my hands pinched in the connections. Maybe they could offer the set they sell with it or allow an option for a higher quality set. Otherwise this has all the power you would need. It pulls along easily and doesn't flip over. I can't say enough positive about the vac itself. April 13, 2013
Powerful machine! We got this steel canister vacuum back in Dec. 2012, and it does remind me of the canister vacs I would see in the 60's/70's. I saw this several times in the catalog and finally took the plunge to buy it and I am glad I did!! We live in a townhouse with lots of stairs and I needed something that I could move easily up & down - I think this is the easiest I have found - with great power despite it's compact size - and it was cheaper in price compared to other high priced brands. I haven't used it in the car yet - but I am thinking now how easy that will be to reach the parts in the interior that the car wash service misses. Just be careful of the force of air coming out the back - light objects will take flight if that blows on them - but not really a problem - just be aware of papers, etc. So glad I have this now - sorry I spent money over the years on less powerful, quick solution type hand vacs. I use this also for the most part as my main vacuum. Love the full set of attachments!! April 9, 2013
This vacuum is a joke I should have kept my cheap" plastic vacs" as this one does no better then they did. The pipes are plastic so don't join well and keep falling apart. The vacuuming pieces are so shoddy they don't pick stuff up from the floor and just sort of scoot it around. In the picture, the looks are great but deceiving! I can't believe I wasted that much money on this product! February 10, 2013
Fun Vacuum This is a easy vacuum to carry about the house as one uses it. Light weight, cleans well. Only two drawbacks--the hard floor attachment could use more brush and the fact that it is small necessitates small bags. Overall performance is quite good and comes with a lovely number of attachments. November 3, 2012
Great little vacuum I love this vacuum because I can carry it upstairs or out to vacuum my car or wherever I need it. Great suction and does everything I need. I love it! October 31, 2012
New House, New Vacuum Every time I received a Vermont Country Store catalog I longingly viewed the small steel canister vacuum thinking that it did every job I needed a vacuum to do. Finally, we have our own new home after living in parsonages for 40 years and I knew my first purchase would be the vacuum I had looked at for so long! My only concern was if I should have a problem, what would I do since it was a mail order. No problem said the Country Store representative......we will make it right for you....whatever the problem! That was all I needed to hear. The vacuum has been working wonderfully and doing all I need it to! Thank you Vermont Country Store! September 12, 2012

What Our Customers Are Saying about Our Steel Canister Vacuum …

"Best vacuum I've ever owned. Can't get over how lightweight it is. So easy to use and carry around. We've had it just over a month and I can't believe I didn't buy one sooner. It reminds me of the vacuum my grandparents had back in the late 60's. And to top it all off, it's made right here in the USA." - Karen, Falls Church, VA

"This vac often gets abused cleaning up construction debris such as plaster dust. I absolutely don't suggest that it be used for this purpose, but after it has been cleaned out the motor still goes strong. Because the bag is small, you do have to empty it often, but I found this inconvenience is worth the powerful suction it provides. I have replaced the hose and intend to replace some of the tools. Few machines are worth replacing such parts these days."-Adriaan Finnerman, Poughkeepsie, NY
