I love these lamps!
I love these lamps. I had purchased two from another catalog store and I forgot the instructions said to only use a certain bulb, and used the curly bulb and the touch feature was damaged. There was no way to turn them off except to unplug them so use only the standard bulbs. I used one of the plug-in automated light switches - it has a remote you use to turn on the light and I can still use this lamp. I was thrilled to see you had these same lamps and it was hard to get all the cord in and I almost gave up but now they are working great! I hope the lamps for these lights aren't taken off the market because I hate those curly ones - they don't last any longer than the older types and are a lot more expensive. These lamps look like such a high quality and they are great next to the bed. My daughter missed it when my old one was broken. Most touch lamps are little tiny things and these are a nice large size and look amazing.

I would recommend, but only after you have corrected....
These lamps are high quality and wonderful to use daily - with two exceptions: first, they are very difficult to put together as the wire from the base to the next section is way too long and causes much difficulty in bringing the two sections together. Once that hurdle is jumped, we found that these lights do NOT work with the new flourescent "curly" bulbs - and since the other bulbs are no longer going to be produced, are we without light once the bulbs burn out???? You should correct this latter issue so that your product has a useful life.

Great until the bulb burns out
Ordered these for my mother who needs the touch-on function. The table lamps worked great until the bulb burned out, which fried the touch-on switch so it no longer worked. This happened to both lamps. Vermont Country Store replaced them, but the same thing happened again with the replacements. This product is defective, and not worth the money if they have to be rewired or replaced every time the bulb burns out. Waiting to see what happens with the floor lamp when that bulb burns out.

Light the way with ease.
Big hit with the 93yr. old Mother-In-Law who struggles with light switches....very good quality both shade and lamp. Great weighted bottom = 5* stability. Would certainly recommend.
