GERMAN WEATHER HAUS My German Weather Haus does not work. The man stays out when the sun is out, and the lady doesn't come out when the sun is out. We've tried to get it to work. The black chimney on top has up and down positions. There was no explanation as to which position is the correct position. We've tried both positions, but neither position brings success. We want to return this German Haus and get another one to see if it will work properly. Do we have to pay postage again? We hope to hear from you soon. January 19, 2013
Wonderful Product brings back Wonderful Memories My grandparents had a weather house when I was a child and I have hunted for one similar to theirs for over 30 years. Stormy Weather in MA If anyone has this, I would like to know the secret to making it work. I have it placed near windows, like it said, and gave it a "hand" with putting the right person out on the right days a couple of times, but the person did not change by itself when the weather turned. I wondered if there were any special tips to using it? I don't not recommend this to anyone until I see if I'm doing something wrong first! December 31, 2012
A Memorable Weatherhouse I bought two of the German weather houses; one for my brother Frank and one for my son Gary. When we were growing up, my grandmother had a similar weather house and we watched everyday to see which character would appear. I bought one for my son so I could share a memorable object from my youth. Both purchases created a sense of wonder; one a reminder of the past and the other a reminder of a time that much simpler when objects such as the weather house was something to treasure.
