It's just a difficult-to-find item, and you were able to send what I needed.

Cassette Recorder Wouldn't Work for Me
I followed the directions exactly, but couldn't get the machine to record. Perhaps an external microphone is necessary. Also "easy-to-use" is false. The buttons require quite a bit of pressure to depress. Recording requires pushing three buttons: first press pause, then press play/record, last press pause again. After several attempts the play/record button wouldn't stay depressed. Never did get it to record when following directions exactly including direction for the tape. Totally frustrating experience.

Great for the technically challenged.
My husband came home from Vietnam with 8 track tapes ,his favorite oldies...he played them until the akai recorder died . He borrowed one and transferred tapes to cassette. Many years later transferred those to CDs . He needed an easy way to listen to his favorites just before he sleeps and we seem unable to learn how to make digital stuff work , this is perfect for hearing impared tech unsavy folks.

Great Christmas gift
My husband has been wanting a cassette recorder for about 10 years. I was unable to find one in a local store, so when I finally got the money together and ordered this for Christmas I was so excited. He opened it on Christmas Day and has been recording all sorts of things he reads in books. It has brought him many hours of enjoyment and Christmas was only 5 days ago!

Perfect for our purpose.
I live in a Retirement-Life Community and volunteer in our library here. The committee decided to withdraw the collection of audio books recorded on tape, as none of the regular population was utilizing this resource. I rescued the tapes from the dumpster. Since finding your tape recorder/players, I have re-habbed everything for donation to our assisted living facility to be used by our neighbors who are slowly losing their sight, but who still enjoy a good book. The tape players are perfect; easy to use with larger "buttons" for arthritic fingers, operate on either electricity from the enclosed plug or by battery and have a "pause button" which stops the tape at a certain point so that visiting the book again later is easy. Finding these tape players has been wonderful!

These recorders are impossible to find anymore.
I had purchased a boombox/recorder back in the 80's. Last year it finally bit the dust. I've been searching since then for another one. It seemed they didn't make them anymore (at least for cassette tapes). The only thing I was told was that I'd have to buy a mic and connect it to a boombox IF I could find one that was compatable. Then, I saw the one advertised in your catalog and sent for it. I'm very happy! The only thing I'd advise other purchasers is that they place it on a pad to use, or they'll get a muffled sound on playback.

Standard tape recorder almost good as old days
The tape recorder I bought was just what I was looking for, and I was very pleased until I discovered two things-- the battery box was so tight that one could hardly squeeze the required batteries in, and the cord and plug were not the sturdy old one of yesterday, but the weeny one of today. In fact, I've already lost it, and am afraid to switch to another plug-in, as it might be the wrong power setting. Therefore, I dare only use it with batteries which my arthritic hands can force in just barely, as the cover bulges outward from the pressure.
