NOT QUITE LIKE MOM'S, BUT STILL GREAT
I've seen this item many times in your catalog and decided to try it. Well, it was delicious. But I like the plain poppy seed one much better. As they say, close but no cigar! Being Polish, my mother made this as well as the nut roll and a tough act to follow, and your nut roll is excellent. also. It, too, was moist and flaky and tons of almond flavor. Perfect with coffee. I shared some with co-workers and they too raved about it. Vermont Country Store is like a trip down memory lane for anyone's who's familar with it. After almost 70 years, you must be doing something right. I'm glad to be a customer.

When I was growing up, my mother always made nut roll, and poppyseed roll. Poppyseed was always my favorite but I did share it with my father! It has been YEARS since I had some, so this was a real treat and brought back so many good memories.

Half Slovak, we normally have baked kolac every Christmas and Easter. But my Mother has not been well and I have been caring for her...so I thought to save time, I would try your "potica", which is very similar (poppyseed or nut rolls). One tends not to expect much but I thought these were excellent. You can smell the fresh yeast smell as soon as you open the box! I ordered two poppyseed for us, and gifted two rolls to others. Any of you Slovaks out there, it's pretty close to Mom's.

One ingredient missing
My Grandfather was a baker from Germany. He came to this country to have a better life and brought his many German recipes with him. The one I remember best is his Christmas poppy seed rolls. When I saw it in your catalog I just had to try it to see if it was as good as my Grandfathers. It comes very close but the one thing that is missing is the love that he baked into each roll.
